  1. Yes as featured in the IRSE Green book on single line control.
  2. I’ve been out to collect this today. No I’m not loosing the plot. I know it’s GW but it may be useful. I have a few gangers instruments tucked away too. If it can all be made to work it may help with line blockages etc.
  3. We had a professional welder in to stick the post together.. One of the colourlights was under test yesterday.. and lots of painting..
  4. Here it is lurking in the background with equally deficient in detail bowstring structures on the main lin es
  5. That’s my point. My side is finished and on the layout. There is no rivet detail when there really should be. It is hiding an almost impossible span and is an attempt to show a bridge of different design to the main line as it was made at a different time/company. Yours is inspirational for sure and especially the mention of parts to help.
  6. Puts my attempt to shame... Some photo's of the real one too.. Click on the picture and it will take you to a Flickr album. Pictures taken during an engineering block.
  7. I’m getting old. Just carried an auxiliary pair of key token instruments out to the van. I’m wrecked.

Those days are long gone. Carrying them down the box steps and away was once so easy lol

  8. I’m dead impressed with yours. I’m looking forward to seeing the box finished.
  9. I have part of the lever frame from Hitchin Yard box lol. A favourite location of mine. March East has an interesting staircase.
  10. I saw your steps and thought of this…
  11. I thought the clear call was on the locos from the outset? I have heard stories of it being unpopular with crews as it was attached to the overhead wire. I’d like to know more about it as to work at all the 1500 volt D.C. would have to be true D.C. with no ripple voltage whatsoever.
  12. In Fiennes on Rails mention is made of Duck Drove and goings on that would make H&S and those in charge of today's rail go into shock. Rope shunting, bang road tickets etc.. My partner in grime PwayOwen has digitally restored the above diagram.
  13. A few moment in time at Padnal.. A ballast train approaches the box Called past the home signal.. The signalman has a word.. Mile End AHB had failed. Attendant in er um er attendance..
  14. I was involved with Hertford East as an advisor lol. They didn’t seem to believe I could nip the lever frame out in under six hours so I didn’t get the job. Others on here may know different.
  15. I have some ‘new’ signals to erect in the near future along with some more conventional old ones. Another signalbox move planned this month too. I saw this sad looking thing on my travels today..
  16. Like for like involves very little design cost. If you install a colourlight you need a robust power supply, mechanical and electrical changes in the signalbox, additional circuitry, changes to signal positions, alterations to sectional appendix, the list can on and on. These works eliminated several suspect structures and allow the line to keep working at the lowest cost option.
  17. Between Acton Canal Wharf and Dudding Hill there are nine new semaphores..
