A not so royal encounter as Prince William encounters an MTA

Thanks so far that seems to have solved it

The error is app not working I suspect it's caused by chrome browser app and this website for some reason.

The antenna. In both Loco types it's the antenna that sticks out. So I wondered if I could cut it of and fit at Angle or so, or put a small flecible antenna.
We'll have to wait and see what size these things are when Hornby start producing them with smaller available components..
But when and if is still a big IF as updates seem to be quite infrequent now the launch had happened. I'm hoping we get more profiles soon to keep up with the projected list and then we do get a new run which may reduce the size to make this more useable. Not just in other manufacturers trains but also in a lot of hornbys own current and back catalogue.

Pixel 6a..
same error just on this site,,, app no longer working referring i suspect to chrome app

Chipped and fitted.. of course there is as yet no class 47 sound available for the hm7000 system so testing it with the 31. Slow running is superb (much slower than I demonstrated in this video - but holding one phone to film and one to video became a bit of a pain) though still Lima noisy. Then again I have been away for a month so no doubt that's long enough for a Lima motor to have another service 🤔😁

Think it just looks different due to how the outer casing is fitting at that point.. no doubt this is slightly different for every engine and probably changed quite a lot during an individual engines life as well. Even temperature would move it.

I could be wrong but the 47 and 37 must be pretty imminent as the tsx fitted versions are due in Sept according to my local store. Can't remember the R numbers ( in fact personally I don't remember a 37 being offered)

Because it hasn't had an actual official announcement yet.
What we have had:
1. A hint it would be announced at the following annual announcement. It wasn’t.
2. The accidental publication and subsequent removal of the product page.
3. A livery sample shown at a model railway show. IIRC it was shown alongside the then to be annouced club LNER P2 model.
4. Mentions of it in the club magazine.
Ah.. that makes sense then.. can't say I read much of the club magazine. Tend to drop it off at the heritage railways charity mag rack.

New Hornby outlet sale has just begun...

Nope, but given they haven't announced it yet I doubt it is on the way with the rest. I am just hoping my order will be honoured when they do announce it.
Yep fingers crossed, It does seem a long time since that was on the page.. just out of curiosity why does it not even appear on the club as unavailable anymore.

I haven’t tried it but I guess if you set it up as desired then exported the profile, if global volume screwed that up you could import it again. The answer if not would be to set the global volume first then adjust the individual items and save out by export.Yes that does seem to be the only solution. Will have to make a few profiles. "In house alone"... "Wife is in next room".... "What do you mean it's 3am"

Ok.. I'm sure I am just missing something obvious here like a save button but one thing I do like is the ability to fine tune each sound on the fly... No superloud spirex valves or primers .. however once you have every CV volume adjusted as soon as you use the global volume my expectations would be for the volumes to be raised in the same ratios up or down. But it seems to just reset everything to match the highest volume.
Is this just how it works or should I be saving each profile

Hope this did restart as it's one I fancy having a bash at

Superb work.. reading through this I keep hoping just a little of these skills will eventually rub off.. alas no luck yet.

Yes. Real work, sport ( I am team captain for club) and and heat (my study gets too hot in summer) got in the way..! However, now have all the raw components (wire, guitar string, shaped plastic) and (various orange) paint and will commence on a Lima Class 47 shortly. The Lima has a new chassis and railroad powered and unpowered bogies with Alan Gibson wheels set for EM. Sorry for delay, aim to complete by end of August.
Patrick
Look forward to it

Charter power at Tunstead in it's later years. (A Lima 47 that's being tinkered with and DCC'd)

Also if you are going to be completely accurate, the buffer beam cowl will need to be removed.

Hmmm. Looking at this pic now with the buffers and a start made on removing the Lima tension couplings I see your point. But it may be beyond the scope of this project.
still at least I got the door handles painted 💪😉. I'm now a bit annoyed I didn't strip the front two numbers and Crewe cats. I think my plan to flood in a paint match just won't work. So to stay positive I put the 8pin socket in and made her DCC ready.
I will shorten off every wire later but I wanted to make sure everything was running. Also building up a little isolated board for the socket to sit on.

Think I need to rethink the grey on the buffers from my attempt.. The close ups also reveal a multitude of missed burrs and highlight just how scale over thick they are.
Tension couplings are still to come off yet.. don't think I'll put Kadees on this as it's unlikely to run with stock. So just full buffer bar detailing.

Also an extra confirmation for me that an em1 and the supplied sugar cube in series will work..
Just need Hornby to release a class 47 profile now for my "prince william" project..

Cabs rebuilt and back in place. Buffers tidied up a bit. (Black body, silver shank and grey front) TBH the front grey is wrong and using oils for the oil marks hasn't given me the feathering in I wanted, so I'll redo them later or take some powders to them as looking at photos they seemed to carry a bit of rust and grime on the buffers.
