Well, I have to say that I have truly enjoyed watching the Coronation of our King.

    Wonderful.

And I.. the music was sublime as was the entire ceremony and pageantry. And I think Penny Mordaunt was utter class. (Though I had to suppress a giggle when after 2 hours she finally handed the sword over only to be given another jeweled sword)

  2. Tbf captain tom wasn't a club edition or purple nor fictional. This purely is a souvenir. You have pretty much eliminated half your buyers and the club and one only slows the pace. Coronation was not ltd but may for all we know have had a ridiculously small run

Coronation weirdly does still allow you to buy from within the club. So a new run must be either planned or Hornby have just been a bit lax with web site (just for a change 🙂🤫)

Doesn't help that Hornby marketing have as usual been so unsure what this product is they seem to have forgot to mention the inclusion of a tsx ready 21pin  chip . As it is it seems to be an overpriced class 66 unless you happen to spot the sku and check with them.

The PRA wagon fleet comprised of only 14 wagons built in 1983 for one specific China Clay flow between Cornwall and Scotland.

EFE Rail are bringing out six versions: three early livery and three late, the main difference being  the frame colour.

    Oh gawd.

It will be playing continuously on a DC layout, not just when the operator sees fit to press a function button.

Just wait till you're manning the club stand or a trade stall next to it at an exhibition!

If that is the DC solution.. doubt it but then again this is Hornby... A quick pair of wire snippers deals with that.. 👑🤫

But I can't see how they could do it that way without messing with the tsx installation.

  5. decided to ring Hornby and ask about the TSX HM7000  status... Think they had gone home for the coronation but somone eventually answered (didnt they use to have a collectors club private number to Simons desk ;) )

Eventually passed from pillar to post but seems it comes with 21 pin chip.. Im guessing then the sound profile for this simply has a unique god saves the king attached to a bell or horn function on the app -   So nothing to stop you ignoring that and just downloading any 21pin profile.

  6.  reading the full description it's still not entirely clear to me but I just did some basic maths and came to the conclusion it's worth leaving the order in

A member gets £17.59 back off it and the postage is free. Now here is the cancel or leave part - it includes a 21 pin tsx sound chip whose sound map includes the anthem. So nothing to stop up you downloading the normal 66 soundmap by the app or taking it out and using it in any other 21 pin loco the app supports.

So the chip is 69.99 +17.59 so let's say 87.50 extra value included. I'm not including the fact it's hardly likely that points won't be put towards it in the first place.

So 43.50 for a souvenir (let's be fair railroad standard) class 66 isn't that bad. Let's face it it could be worth thousands on eBay for Christmas 🎄😋😉😉

I must admit the mock livery is actually very nice and would look good for real but I think it’s the ‘god save the king’ sound chip which ‘tackifies’ the model for me

I'm guessing this is Hornby being bad at explaining anything as usual and it's not a case of it running around doing this all day.

I suspect there will be a profile that assigns this sound to a function key press.

It's all a bit oddly described.

I only glimpsed the email whilst I was out and assumed GBRf had done a special livery for the weekend. It seems I was mistaken, sadly mistaken.

Given me an idea.. I may add a few branded logos and weathering to it just to give it a more semi alt reality look.

Tbf with using points and the points back from the buy it's quite a bargain if it is a 21 pin sound tsx

I would have thought being a TXS can just have the sounds uploaded? Or I guess it comes with Class 66 sounds plus the Anthem? Surely..

If it's just a tsx with a different profile I may stick with it.. add some  warning flashes and the orange line (I'm having a brain blank at the moment).. a light weathering and stick with it.. just find a 00 Camilla to throw a 🍾 at it..

It's just a bit of fun and I need to spend these points

  10. Hmmm. Think I miss understood this email. Talking of sound chips I think Hornby have missed a momentous marketing pricing opportunity.

Why not s make it hm7000 ready and charge 40/ 50 more like the 73 and 47... At least I can keep the engine boxed and unused but get a chip out of it. 🤔. The great nephews can take it on the antiques roadshow of the future , probably to be told it's tat.

Now I re read the blurb and realise it just runs around singing god save the king I feel a cancel pre order coming.

  11. Picked one up vastly reduced from Arcade. I'm just making a start on weathering it as it is the most hideous of sheens out of the box. It's couplings are also bizarre as they swing so far on the horizontal plane from a non centering point that it makes the kadees almost unusable.

Whilst the cast finish certainly adds some weight I'm not sure it helps in the detail though.

Quite an unusual looking thing though. What would be a normal load?
