Certainly had a decent effect on the share price over the last two days. Looking at how it seemed there was a lot of shorting going on with price recently I suspect lots of selling today or tomorrow.

The most hilarious part of the Hornby  site is if you order anything it seems to now randomly tell you a " goes with this " .. IE would you like a private owner three plank wagon to go with that class 66 you just ordered and an 8 pin tsx chip ( even though it doesn't fit)

I'm always should I or shouldn't I when it comes to adding crew.. Sometimes I think something isn't quite right when looking at stationary people. But your now the third or fourth person to mention it so I may have to get a few ordered and painted.

I still need to get the cobbles painted up yet though.. lol

The underside of the Hornby model is very basic, I suspect due to it being a complete cast metal.  Don't really know why they took that route it seems to show less detail imo

Not sure which fire your using but I managed this as well but found though it works it's terribly unresponsive compared to my Google pixel phone.. may search out a cheaper android tablet that works as it has shown me the advantage of a bigger screen lol. 

It comes on at speed step 1 but.. very brightly on DCC I've actually used the CV to reduce brightness. Only on one direction for me though.

Mines still superb.. perfect for shunting and an absolute bargain.

Why is it when you start laying track at last you suddenly discover your one set of fishplates short.🤔 I could have sworn I had hundreds.

Anyway a bit more tidying up with new fascia boards attached to the extended fiddle yard.

The weathered examples for look superb... However I do wish someone had tooled up the 15t van.

I decided over the past couple of weeks to finally tackle one aspect that's been an annoyance for a long time (and no it's not the creases in the backscene grrrr)

The original photos from this thread have disappeared into the ether following the site crash but if you remember the size of the fiddle yard was heavily constrained by the original location. That's no longer an issue so I have taken the opportunity to scrap the small traverser and replace it with a simple set of Sidings. The traverser in all honesty never worked well and it actually became easier to simply lift and swap stock by hand.

You can get an idea of the size of the original yard here. It was limited. And below the size in comparison with the new section. I have hade to reconstruct the rear support and strengthen the base as obviously the layout now has to support double or more the weight of the protruding fiddle yards section.

By adding a ladder set of Sidings I now have two sets of Sidings easily operated probably with wire in tube that hold the same or slightly longer length trains and a third spare. But best of all I now have faultless running between the yard and layout as the traverser always refused to line up correctly.

Oil was a more unusual wagon to be brought into the yard.

Caught this for the first time yesterday. Beautiful capture of the atmosphere of the Edwardian townhouses peering into the railway. Is that a nod to call the midwife 🙂 I mentioned it in the other thread lol?. And pink Floyd what more could you want 

Arrived just after 10 and was in within 20 mins or so.. the problem to me seemed to be more to do with how slow it was to process members details for free admission.

Anyway despite the odd over cramped rooms due to the work going on thoroughly enjoyed it and I only went as a 4mm man who went with a 2mm friend.

Favourites well plenty of good layouts though I do find some n gauge modellers try to cram so much in even when they technically have so much space.

But I was very taken with the detail of Olympia Kensington. It captures the London atmosphere very well.(and that comes from someone brought up in London but is now a rural recluse who won't build anything bigger than a small  goods shed).. Which came first though, this layout or call the midwife 🙂

Not too sure about the price of the HO flying Scotsman though.. can do without smoke and traction tires. But the detail does look superb.

Bit of a random? But why has the 47 prince William in the main hall got this morse code  name plate and odd black band at the top Remember being pulled by this and Henry on a Northern belle trip to Bath.

Never bid on eBay until the last 14 secs clocks in.. it's when the snipe bots place the bidders max bid. Even then you need to hold off till the last few secs, this also stops you bidding over your set max bid.

Can't remember the Murphy's model number but rails of Sheffield did a beautiful weathered Irish that I always regret.

It's not even that as a club member got 15% back (it's also unlikely a club member didn't already have points to knock off in the first place).

In the good old days you would have got 10% off retail(and a free toy 🚂 to fill a landfill with)  but I would say if your using the club at the moment just to buy hm7000 chips it's actually a good time to be in..

I think the thatch just needs to move right so the warehouse industrial in the foreground just hides an inch or so.. as if the poor thatch refused to move, so they built right in front..

Didn't always agree with him or the direction Hornby had lately swung but he did seemed to have pure spark and enthusiasm both in the media and at shows. 

I suspect he will be missed. It will be interesting to see if the steer of the company changes greatly.
