Is there any update when the class 91 and 800 sound files are due to be released please? It says Q1 2024 on the list but we are past that now. Thanks -
Hornby 2023 - Bluetooth decoders and control system

Got a short video if this working. I thought it looked pretty good. Also the water was refilled in the smokebox door which looked to fold down on a hinge at the bottom but unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to get a picture of this. 20231126_144853_1.mp4 -
Belstead Lane - Mid 2000s East Anglia Nostalgia
Caledonian Gateway replied to BelsteadLane's topic in Layout topics
I don't think he's doing any more work on this layout unfortunately. He posted on his Instagram page he was having to stop and since then has deleted the account as well as the Facebook and Youtube account. Not sure what has happened but hope he's OK. -
The crest looks to be in the correct place as it is currently preserved in the NRM. I coloured the tyres in with Sharpie on mine which improved it.

Please is there anyone with more knowledge than I have know if I were to renumber/rename 37409 to 37403 if it would be correct detail wise? Thanks -

The Spitfire's left wing is in the correct position on the model as per the older pictures. On the newer pictures it's moved backwards. -

The pantograph head is on the wrong way around. It just clips off so easy to sort out -

Further to the tabs no longer being present on the bogies they have also modified the part the holds the bogies to the chassis block. The 4 tabs are now held on with screws rather than 4 pins and glue on previous models. Often these were not stuck down far enough. -

Got a stock notification for the Caledonian Sleeper coaches and just enjoyed watching them all sell out in about half an hour. Amazing! -

Received the first pack of my coaches today and really happy with them. I am sure I read on here or somewhere though that an extra magnetic coupling would be provided for connection to the loco but I can only see tension locks in the box. Has anyone else experienced this or can confirm? -

Ah ok thanks. I'll just wait for the sleepers and get it all at once there's no rush -

Not had any notification of my 92010 leaving yet. Wonder if it's because I have sleeper coaches on the same order? 🤔 -
Have they fixed the cab above the windscreen where it looks like it has melted on the old tooling?

That is pretty much what I sent. Very strange. I can't understand the benefit of sending it back to them unless they are going to replace the whole model. Which would be a waste I think but it seems that's the only option I have. I also have two Azuma dummy end units to send back with faulty flickering lighting so I best find a big box...
-
They are insisting that I send mine in and won't simply provide a replacement in the post. Not sure why they are treating this different to you 🤔
-
That's interesting, they want me to send my DVT in for a quality check despite the fact the coupler is clearly broken so all it would do is confirm this. I have not got round to sending it yet but will call them on Monday to see if they can just send me a replacement as well to save the hassle of posting it to them.

The picture you mention says "TT A3" which of course Hornby wouldn't want to be beaten to the market on. So you could be right if Accurascale are developing their own TT A3, Hornby may have decided to bring forward the announcement..
-
Same here and unfortunately during my attempts to couple to the DVT recently I have broken the cam coupling on it as they are extremely flimsy. Contacted Hornby hoping they have spares...

Hornby Announce a Re-tooled Class 91 for 2020
Caledonian Gateway replied to MGR Hooper!'s topic in Hornby
To fix your Class 91 problems that occur due to a terrible design, I recommend putting a spacer washer* (I made mine out of cardboard) around the pivot point between the top of the bogie worm drive holder and the bogie holder cradle part of the chassis. *See orange arrow in my photo. If you do this on both bogies it raises the body slightly and gives the bogies the extra bit of fore/aft movement they need to stop derailing. This also stops the tabs on the bogies wearing away as seen in @NewSiding post. I also experienced this before doing my modification. When you add this spacer in be careful to not let the driveshaft fall out as it's a right pain to get back in! I have done this to two 91s now and it works for me. I cancelled the rest of my 91 orders because I shouldn't have to do this but at least they work properly now.- 717 replies

Has anyone with a broken W1 heard back from Hornby yet? I am still waiting to hear from them.

I received my model preordered direct from Hornby after seemingly an age to get through Hermes distribution network. On arrival I noticed the smoke deflector was broken so immediately packed it back up again and emailed Hornby hoping they can replace it. The lack of stock got me thinking that if they can't replace it whether a repair would be noticeable if I just glued the smoke deflector back on. On second inspection I also noticed that the tender drawbar connection was also damaged which put pay to any hopes of just repairing the smoke deflector as the tender mounting is totally broken making the loco unusable. Very disappointed. Just hope Hornby can sort something but I do feel for them as I expect this is going to hurt them financially (which they really don't need) with so many broken models out there.

Maybe SK said he has got a tip off another manufacturer is making a HST to try and put off any other potential manufacturers making a HST? No one will want to think they are the 3rd manufacturer to the table. Just and idea I had

Hornby Merchant Navy announced (formerly Facebook leak)

I too have had my order cancelled by Hattons. I pre ordered it with them after having it cancelled by Rails. After they cancelled all but one item from the 2021 range I pre ordered with them and now this, I will never be using Hattons again either that's for sure.
