  1. Very happy to see these three models go to a good home. They were all high quality at release and remain so.
  2. Accurascale confirm they've taken on the Barclay, P Class and Warwell toolings, and have also hinted at more: "And finally, the question many of you may be asking; what other Hattons Originals models have joined our line up? Well, you will have to keep an eye on us for future announcements later this year and beyond to find out! " https://www.accurascale.com/blogs/news/we-take-on-some-hattons-originals-favourites-warwells-p-and-andrew-barclay-tanks
  3. Well well, now we know the answer - the Genesis Coaches are going to Rails of Sheffield, and the Barclays, P Class and Warwells are going to Accurascale! https://www.hattons.co.uk/newsdetail?id=1504&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=hattonsoriginalsupdate-newowners EDIT: Looks like the tolling for Andrew Barclays, P Class and Warwells have now been bought by Accurascale as well, which is fabulous news!
  4. Honestly I can't believe it. Hattons gave such great customer service to those of us outside the UK and it's extremely sad to see them winding up. I can only say how much joy some of their own models brought me: especially the Barclays, the P class, and the Genesis coaches, along with countless other things that found their way across the seas to my mailbox. They will certainly be missed.
  5. Now that's more like it. L&NER promptly ordered. These will look the business with the genesis coaches.
  6. Santa came a bit late to Sydney this year (he apologised for the delay, apparently the reindeer were on a 72 hour work stoppage). Thankfully the LMS coaches arrived safely. And my my, they are lovely. I'm going to have a lot of fun with these!
  7. Fabulous, and I agree about the running performance. Mine run faultlessly over some badly laid points and second radius curves. Very little cut outs of the lights, too. They were a bit cranky about some first radius curves in a siding, but they did it. They really do look spectacular, especially behind a tank engine, or small tender engine. I'm glad I went with the lit coaches as they bring the more plain LNER livery to life. Well done to Hattons, these are certainly worth the wait and come highly recommended. Now for the LMS coaches in a few months.
  8. Mouthwatering. Well done Hattons! Can't wait for my LNER and LMS ones to land down under
  9. My pair of 7 plankers just arrived. Like many I was skeptical at the price but I must say, they look incredibly sharp and weigh a lot for their size. Not a blemish on either of them, and they really nailed the colours, especially that lovely chocolate brown. Overall very pleased.
  10. My new E1 arrived yesterday and unfortunately I've had a similar experience on DC to many others. At higher speeds it's quite smooth, but sadly it really runs like a dog at slow speeds - squeaky wheels and inconsistent performance on my DC Kato controller, constant speeding up and slowing down. Not very pleased.
  11. Unfortunately the RRP of almost all of those "normal" models has risen by about £30-50. Thankfully as a normal person who wants to pay normal prices I've already purchased mine.
  12. To me the principle is simple - is this competitive behaviour, or uncompetitive behaviour? Hornby been willing to test copyright and licensing law to the limits, and possibly beyond - to ensure that no smaller manufacturer will be able to make a successful and financially viable product. That's not fair competition.
  13. I've seen it claimed elsewhere that the 1925 batch had lower domes and Gresley-style chimneys. Also does anyone know whether these ventured north of Darlington in the LNER days?
  14. For a brief moment I thought the itchy trigger finger was a side effect of the second Pfizer dose. Further investigations confirmed that big green tank engines pulling teak suburbans can cause uncontrollable side effects.
  15. I have never pre-ordered anything so quickly in my life. Even made me end my run of lurking!
