  1. DPD has come to my door this morning with a nice delivery. I have just opened my 1501 and I am blown away by it. It is so heavy for a tank engine and mine has arrived in perfect condition. I have put it on a small test track to run it in and it runs beautifully. So controllable and the sound is very good. No noticeable wobble on mine and it just looks amazing. It is love at first sight. This will be my main locomotive for my small heritage railway model that I am slowly building. Well done rapido!!! This is an outstanding model and should be very proud. Looking forward to the USA160.
  2. Perhaps it is a DMU? A class 142 or class 143 pacer would be good in O gauge. Lots of liveries over their lifespan and not too big so would suit a simple branch terminus layout in O gauge. I collect both O gauge & 00 gauge. I am currently Planning small 1foot by 10 foot O gauge layout ready for the new Heljan class 153 so a pacer from Accurascale would be very welcome 😀
  3. Yes please. You can put me down for an O gauge manor locomotive. I would probably expect to pay £500 - £550 for a Manor in O gauge DCC ready and £600 - £650 for an O gauge Manor that is DCC sound fitted. I think that would show good value for money and amazing to be able to pay in instalments so by the time it has been released, it would be all paid for. 😀
  4. When the next batch of Manors are announced, could I request 7828 Odney Manor. This is my favourite. Spent the day at the West Somerset Railway yesterday travelling behind her. She is by far the loudest of the Manors from my experience so a bigger speaker might be required for this one 😉
  5. This is fantastic news! Accurascale are producing some top quality models and it is a shame to have them damaged at the last hurdle in transit. This will hopefully greatly reduce the number of models needing to be returned. So thank you for having new packing. This will be a game changer! It’s such a breath of fresh air when a company listens to feedback and takes on board.
  6. Mk1 gangway coaches have been mentioned a few times in this thread (including by myself) but I would like to add I would like to see them also produced with the window frames that were added later on in their operational life. I don’t think this has been done on any MK1 coaches that have been produced in 00 gauge yet. I would also like to see them with connecting gangways. This has been done on the fantastic Dapol Lionheart MK 1 coaches in O gauge using magnets. I understand the issues with this as they would need to negotiate radius 2 curves but perhaps an option where the user can adjust them for realistic curves where they are connected and have them further apart for 2nd radius.
  7. An Ivatt tank engine would be a nice addition the the RTR O gauge market. I have been collecting the stunning lionheart mk1 coaches and an Ivatt tank would be perfect for them.
  8. Both the 121 and the 117 have gone very quiet. Hopefully we will have some news in these soon.
  9. Has anyone heard any updates regarding the progress on the 117?
  10. Thanks Fran. Just a question, DHL seem to be very poor in my area and don’t take care at all with packages when in their possession. Obviously your models are great, but from this experience, I am now worried that any future model I purchase is going to get damaged in transit. Would it be possible that if I order another model in the future, that I can request another delivery company? I would be quite happy to pay additional postage to make sure it gets to me in one piece. Many thanks again.
  11. That is very interesting indeed. I wonder if they use a different facility to ship the international orders. As both the ones i have received from Accurascale have had inadequate padding inside the box meaning the models box is free to bounce around inside.
  12. So unfortunately this post isn’t going to be a very positive one. I had to send back my Cookham Manor that was purchased direct from Accurascale due to it arriving damaged. I very much believe the damage is caused by the lack of care taken when these models are packaged up to be sent at the warehouse. It arrived in a box with hardly any padding and the locomotive box was free to move and rattle around inside. Today, I received my replacement and exactly the same thing. But this time the model is in an even worse condition with the drain cocks broken off, the chimney broken off and the box battered to bits. I wasn’t too worried about the chimney as I can glue that back in, however the drain cocks are so tiny and I can’t find them in the box anywhere. I have ordered a few of these manors and they are excellent models. It’s interesting to note that all of the ones I ordered from rails of Sheffield have arrived perfect and they have taken lots of care when packaging the models up to be sent. On the other hand, all of the models I have received direct from accurascale have arrived damaged. This I believe is caused by poor packaging and DHL not taking care when the parcel is in their possession. Now i am not criticising the help that I have received from the guys at accurascale. They have been very prompt in replying and sorting out a replacement, however all of these issues could almost be solved if they sorted out the poor packaging when sending from their warehouse. Sorry for the negative post on what is such a fantastic model but it really needs to be addressed.
  13. I would like to see a right up to date locomotive or DMU/EMU. O gauge has very little modern image models available. Heljan have recently announced the class 153 which I think is the only modern ish model in RTR O gauge that has been announced so lots of exciting opportunities. I hope for a class 150 & class 158 DMU in O Gauge.
  14. My guess is that it will be a class 153/155 DMU. This would be a good model to produce!
  15. Yes I would definitely like a GWR hall. I think there is a big gap in the market for ready to run tender locomotives in O gauge.
  16. I think they still plan to do the 121/122. They are still listed on the Hattons website.
  17. I have just purchased my very first O gauge item of rolling stock in the form of a Dapol/Lionheart MK1 coach in O gauge. I have gone for the BR green BSK coach from rails of Sheffield and it should Be delivered on Tuesday. Does anyone know of there are plans for more of these MK1 coaches with commonwealth bogies & b4 bogies? I hope to build a couple of rakes of these gradually.
  18. I know they announced the class 117 DMU which is currently scheduled for Q4 this year. But don’t remember a class 108 announcement. Kind of hoping Accurascale can produce some value for money locos and DMUs for O gauge just like they have in 00 gauge.
  19. That could make sense. I’m not sure how similar the bogies are on a 150 compared with a class 153/155 but they do look similar.
  20. Perhaps a class 108 DMU in O gauge? These have been popular in other scales and have operated through the UK so could have a good appeal in O Gauge? And definitely a class 150 in O gauge would be very popular.
  21. Has anyone been brave enough to take the loco body off from the chassis? That is my biggest worry when the time comes to service the model. I feel it is very important for a model to be serviceable in order for it to give a lifetime of reliable running.
  22. Received my 7812 today from Rails of Sheffield. I am currently running it back and forth along a short section of track (layout under construction). I am absolutely blown away by this model. I am lucky that mine has arrived fully in tact and runs beautifully. The sound is really excellent and I love the sound of the breaks when the loco comes to a stop. Sounds just like the real thing! I am just dreading the day when I need to give it a service as I am frightened of causing any damage taking it apart. Has anyone attempted to take the body off yet? Well done Accurascale! Thank you for producing such a stunning model. Now even more excited to get my 7820!
  23. I agree that different people have different preferences when it comes to couplings. That is why I think that most modern models have NEM sockets which allow different coupling options to be used. Using chain links is fiddly and not for everyone but most modern models come with cosmetic chain links. I just think it would be amazing if these could be made to be strong enough to be functional as it adds another option for those who like myself, would like to use them. I hope to eventually convert my stock to P4. I will start on an old type model as I don’t have the confidence yet to convert my more delicate modern models, But if anyone manages to convert their new manor to P4 I would be very interested in how they do it!
  24. It is great that you have been experimenting with alternatives. These manors are absolutely exquisite and I am looking forward to getting mine. I have often wondered if a manufacturer would ever offer RTR models in P4 gauge as it is the same scale as 00 gauge just with a more to gauge track. I actually think there is a market for it these days. You can already get RTR track in P4. More and more modellers are seeking more realism. Hopefully there will be a manufacturer take the plunge one day and start offering P4 models.
