  1. I've followed Woodenhead's advice and now have a letter from Santander saying my claim (for £67.50 deposit for £135 total cost) will be considered. Thanks again Woodenhead!
  2. I think Oxford are missing out on sales of N-gauge Cortinas and 1960s Transits by not producing these in 'bog-standard' liveries; quite a few of us are Carflat owners and the vast majority of vehicles carried would be plain-coloured. The red Cortina was very welcome, but why not do white or grey, or any other typical Cortina colour? Same with the Transits, which I recall en route from Southampton to Dagenham.
  3. Santander say minimum claim is £100, so no good for King deposit £67.50.
  4. Thanks for this info guys. I've contacted Santander about my King deposit today.
  5. I'm planning to spray some of my green N-gauge steam locos with satin varnish--Precision ready-for-spraying. Is it essential to mask cab windows? Thanks in anticipation.
  6. Has anyone had an problems with these? The red light doesn't come on after the train has passed (signal just shows as blank), but the sequence then continues as the train continues. I've swapped the signals for others which I know are fully working but the result is the same. No apparent loose wiring connections either.
  7. Hello Kier, I've just stumbled on to 'Hornsey Broadway'--what a great layout and one I must see. Do you have any exhibitions planned in the London or southern area at the moment?
  8. Thanks a lot for your extremely helpful reply. Your observation about the density is often overlooked and I've seen layouts with 16t minerals loaded to the brim with 'iron ore; presumably the suspension and construction of the 27t tipplers was designed for the heavier product.
  9. The Dapol non-magnetic buckeyes work nicely with the Birdcages--long at the brake ends, short at the other end and long on both ends of the composite.
  10. N-gauge Clive. Nothing wrong with a 306, but a 302 would be even better!
  11. Has anyone got advice for me on which size iron-ore product to use for 50s/60s 'ironstone' trains that were made up of 27t tipplers? I model N-gauge.
  12. You'll be lucky! What we really want is the Baby Deltic.
  13. I seem to remember there's 2 versions--one suitable for a microswitch to be fitted and one with one already installed.
  14. Great pics but views like this are denied to non-members . I think Bachmann should reconsider this policy. Part of the fun in visiting the big shows was to see the latest models.
  15. I'm a bit concerned about Farish items--the catalogue and the Western Pullman in particular---that I've seen in other shops but aren't yet available from Hatton's. They were always 'first off the blocks' in the past with new models.
  16. Thanks Mike--must be more observant in future!
  17. From the above you can see I was confused! Can this thread be re-named OO gauge J94 and a new one created for the N-gauge version? Thanks.
  18. In case other readers (like me until now) have missed Dave's advert on page 127 of the March BRM, you can pre-order or express an interest. I've pre-ordered through my preferred supplier.
  19. Are we able to order these yet? Nothing apparent on Hatton's website a week or so ago.
  20. Dave advertises regularly in the mags, so everyone should be well aware of his products and plans.
  21. Thanks Dan, but I'd rather not shell out on a shell(!) which requires a chassis that I'll have to modify and face a write-off.
  22. Shouldn't the blue/grey Intercity Motorail GUV have B5 heavy duty bogies (or at least B4) in that era? I've found a shot of 93331 in July 1986 with B5s. Or would that create the dreaded height problem as with the Mark 2s?
  23. St Paddy--whoopee! Choc/cream restaurant car--much overdue. Plenty of blue BGs. Black Charrington's TTAs--yes please. (I never saw red tanks like the Revolution Class Bs on the LTS Line). Pity no Highfits--a numerous BR wagon--please note for next year! Not bad overall.
