Yes, jim, did that and also class 47.co.uk. As matt put it a bit more succinctly - all details right for rfd revised except glaring upper grey band which is far too light. I emailed Bachmann too, and kernow as well as it may grab their attention better from a retailer.

Just seen the preproduction shots of 47365 on Kernow's website............... It seems an odd livery , I would like to know what the basis is or whether this is a cock up in the making... Original RFD 3TG, but with revised RFD lettering, logo position, channel tunnel polos and blue roof ? surely not ?

Oh dear, Well I went through this with 31110 and 31270, if you include the incorrect first BR Blue body I now have a pile of bodyshells for respray practice... Hornby were a bit late dealing with 110, but it was eventually sorted after about 7-8 months. I think the scale of the problem has taken them by surprise, realistically though there should be a 'ok , enough's enough' moment and a systematic recall of the offending models as per major retail companies. I am down to one 31 (268) and 2 class 60s from Hornby now.Fortunately their 'modern image' range doesn't include much I need.

Similar route....Hornby HST as a five year old in 1977 running on the carpet......Dad's N gauge models......trips to Maidenhead and Reading to 'spot'.Although strangely I wasn't much into numbers possibly because I had no friends at all who liked trains.... Away days to Weston super mare on HSTs, getting my first 'BR diesels on shed -WR' signed by Rex Kennedy at the Marlow modelrail show.I even had a poster of 47484 at canton on my wall... It's a mix of nostaligia for my/our/the industrial past and the yearning that those years, were more innocent and the world was a better place... I have tried modelling mid-late 90s, and still have some EWS stock - this is already nostaligia as my best years, but keep retunrining to BR blue .Also from a practical point it's less expensive to model because how many blue 37s do I really need ...?

Rivercider, That's fascinating. I have a similar one for bescot trips kindly provided by an rmwebber. What's really interesting is that 2 of those trips ate for 'foreign ' class 46s. I thought when these worked down west they just turned round with the next north bound freight. Bridgewater , may well have included the showerings drinks traffic , " babycham" I believe. I only know that because I drink "brothers" cider.

On a slightly different tack.............I have 47474 in parcels. I like it, it's niiicccceee. However I would like to get another and do a renumber - has anyone ascertained whcih other parcels 47s could be done from this one - 47575 maybe 'city of hereford ' ?

I see your point jim, but I have not got much time to devote to buildings really. I find foamboard too soft and easily marked. Plasticard is a mare to cut when thick. Card isn't very durable. I think I just have to accept, that I'm a "shake the box " modeller, where my interest really lies in building a diorama to run the collection. I think my station plank will utilise much of scalescenes output...

Freightmaster would have the times, but IIRC there is an overnight train from immingham. Certainly I drive round the M25 to gatwick for 6 1/2 years and more often than not between 5-7 am there would be a light loco sitting waiting to come back up the branch , normally on the N side if the A4 bridge . Mostly this was a 66 in recent years. Also look out for the sand (?) workings to the London cement complex normally a FL 66

Lovely diorama. Great shots. If you are doing the day shed, I think this is what the P4 "western road " layout copied as well. Might be worth searching out the Rex article...
