  1. looks very much like York to me so I'm guessing stock movement for Railfest?
  2. If you want OHL you could always move the location to somewhere nearer the English border. The joys of a fictional location is you can make the history yourself
  3. I think, and I hope that I am not mis interupting what DapolDave is saying, If there was true demand for a re-run in a certain livery it would be equally as easy for said retailer to order an additional 250 as it would for Dapol to produce them themselves. If it was only 20 or 30 modellers who missed out then it wouldnt be worth Dapols producing it even if there were no agreements in place.
  4. Many thanks for posting the image. It was well worth the (short) wait since my initiail request. I dont know what it is about them that appeals to me so much but I think they look lovely!. Both the photo, the model and the entire layout are up there at the highest quality levels I have seen. Fantastic work by everyone I think!
  5. Dont manage to make it onto RMWeb for 3 days and (almost) missed an update on one of my favourite layouts. i cant add anything constructive or helpful but can only say how much I look forward to each update. The whole feel of your project is fantastic and the standard of modelling is first class. mark
  6. How about operators having a large flashing light and warning sirens that built into the frame of their layout which they can operate when anybody comes out with the most pedantic of comments, which I am sure we have all heard at exhibitions
  7. Glad the injection has helped. On the inside of the shed wall. I quite like the whitewash as it adds to the depth - its probably needs to be more of a murky grey though. Onto the yard and from the pictures I think it looks like a realistic scene but cant compare it to the prototype as I haven't seen any close up images of the location. Being Scotland I agree that a puddle or two may be required All the best Mark
  8. Great to see another update Stewart. I hope your back problems are under control now. I love the mottled shade for the ground area in the yard. It looks very realistic. The picture does give the shed door area a rather weird angle but with an open door I think it will look spot on.
  9. fantastic layout - only thing it really needs is a few more pages of pictures to show it off. Talking of which, any chance I can request a picture of the banking tank on your layout. I have been planning a highland layout myself (for far too many years) and as a result of buying a few relevant books I have developed a bit of a soft spot for these.
  10. Glad to see another update The signal box captures the tired feeling very well. Hope your injection does the trick
  11. Another fantastic update Stewart. You are capturing the charm perfectly. I have always been a fan of the Far North Line and have been tempted by the charms of Thurso but moved to a harbour side setting. The depot area at Thurso doesnt excite me enough and whilst stumbling around the web I found a couple of pictures of the real Macduff station. One of them capturing the turntable just of the loading dock really made me think what a wonderful location and layout it would make You have most probably already seen it but I have enclosed a link http://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/5745761463/in/set-72157626777605438
  12. I'm sure it has been listed but I cant see it anywhere so I will add Mallaig to the list
  13. Good to hear that the may be able to sort your back out. Doesn't sound like the most pleasant of procedures but fingers crossed that they help you out long term. Cant wait to see the station building. Its the one aspect of this model that I think will really give focus.
  14. hi, hope you are well I was hoping to see another update soon and your latest one doesnt disappoint! The ground in the yard area looks very realistic.
  15. the quality of your buildings in the latest picture updates really is impressive. Cant wait to see them once they have been painted. I think they will really give the right feeling for the area you are trying to capture
  16. One of the real greats - I cant believe you havent added it before. I have loved this line ever since the articles in RM, which must be 20 years back. Great to see more of it. I normally dismiss narrow gauge layouts as the held no interest for me but this one broke that viewpoint easily. Does the 'goldplated' loco still exist?
  17. 10800, many thanks for your reply. I will have to keep an eye out for the old MRJ's. If you could get your old tapes converted and uploaded I think a lot of people would love to view them.
  18. the RM featuring Hursley is one of the few I have kept in its complete form rather than ripping the interesting article's from. I just wish they had more pictures but the ones they do show are amazing. That magazine also has a great article on Helston as well as a brilliant picture of Dunwich. Does anyone know any further information on this layout? - The only thing I have ever seen of it is the single picture in the exhibition build up article.
  19. Hi, does anyone know if there are any long term plans to reduce them to n gauge?
  20. Just need some decent mark 2's for them to haul and it would be great news
  21. Sorry to hear about your back problems. Its the one area of the body that it seems cant ever be fixed 100%. A couple of people I know have back problems and they seem fine for months or even years but then it will pop again for seemingly no reason. The overview of the layout looks very impressive and I cant wait until the white shells are converted into the real station! The idea of a wagon stood on the harbour siding being unloaded sounds good and it will be interesting to see once a few workmen are added to the scene
  22. No problems Stewart, No (individual) response was expected and you answered both our questions in one. However if you are feeling a little guilty at not responding a few more photos will definately help!!
  23. Hi, glad to see another update! I second Worsdell Forever's comment above. I must be missing something as I cant see what further work is required on that bridge. Looks good to me!
  24. Hi Stewart, Hope your back is not causing you too much grief - they can definately be a very problematic area to deal with. Back onto modelling matters and I have to say your layout is fast turning into one of my favourites of all time. The detail and feel to it is just first class and I must admit that I feel more than a touch of jealousy at your talent. Cant wait for further updates.
  25. Hi, Good to see more progress on this layout. It just captures an atmosphere that I really love! A quayside location and a rural scottish scene is one of my favourite combinations and you capture it so well!
