  1. I think (or at least I have been told) that Tyne Yard box is full of Asbestos?
  2. I guess some people may be unaware of the Trainz rail simulator so here is a little lineup of Deltics at Durham station. trainz 2014-06-16 21-00-50-74 par PinzaC55, on ipernity Other side trainz 2014-06-16 21-01-04-18 par PinzaC55, on ipernity Aerial view - the roof fans rotate trainz 2014-06-16 20-53-46-43 par PinzaC55, on ipernity 55018 beside Durham North signalbox trainz 2014-06-16 20-56-57-61 par PinzaC55, on ipernity

  5. Top photo maybe Bo'ness? I can see an LQ signal.
  6. Yeah that works fine - the classic Deltic sound - and you even get the dog as a bone-us.
  7. It was an insane closure and insane for them not to reopen it. Here's the portico of Market Weighton station seen by me in 1978. Number One was "Rivers Of Babylon" by Boney M Market Weighton Station [7] 31.5.78 par PinzaC55, on ipernity
  8. Broomielaw station on the Darlington - Barnard Castle line is a very evocative place. When it and the line closed in 1964 it was just allowed to rot away even though the stationmaster's house is still inhabited. This is it in 1999 when there was still a poster inside the shelter from the last day 35 years earlier. 9. 26035 slows down to a stop at Invershin on 23.11.81. The station was (I think it still is?) a roofless shell and I don't think it even had any lights on the platform. 26035 at Invershin (08.28 Inverness) 23.11.81 par PinzaC55, on ipernity

  11. Didn't work for me. It said Windows Media Player required a plugin to make it work, then it said the plugin was incompatible with the version of Google Chrome i am running. It also said the plugin wasn't compatible with Windows 8 at all (I run Windows 7 Pro). http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/wmp-extension-for-chrome
  12. I am sure somebody will know! It occurred to me it me it might be inferior quality paint used or over powerful Exmover in the carriage washer?

  16. Yes. Brain fart. Unusual duty for my namesake here at Newcastle on 10.10.81 as she shunts stock for train 1N12 opposite the then platform 10. Note the ancient North Eastern Railway platform seat on the ballast! 55007 Pinza shunting 1N12 at Newcastle 10.10.81 par PinzaC55, on ipernity
  17. Oh yes , there were some strange sights to be seen in those days! In 1981 I made made my way to the Blue Circle cement plant to see the sole surviving Clayton Class 17 - sadly not in the East Midlands - but in 1991 I was volunteering on Peak Rail and saw the also sole surviving Metrovick Co-Bo D5705 on a rare outing from the old goods shed. The Co-Bo's survival story is truly bizarre. I can't wait to see this beast back in traffic! D5705 at Matlock 1991 par PinzaC55, on ipernity
  18. Here is 55014 in the company of a Class 40 at Newcastle in 1979 doing what the Deltics did best - turning the air "British Rail Blue" ! Newcastle station was a filthy dismal place in those days but I wish I could turn the clock back...... 55014 Newcastle 8.4.79 par PinzaC55, on ipernity
