When one thinks of all the thousands of steam engines complete with fires raging that have gone beneath that wonderful roof space and it takes a wooden shed to damage it after all these years

In my humble view the whole ‘rebranding’ of Network Rail is a total waste of time and money. Once again people are going to be shunted from one office to another one to push paper or nowerdays computer files around in ever decreasing circles. There will of course be those valued experienced staff who will make the decision to either move to pastures new or take early retirement leaving vacancies that will be filled by younger people with a degree that means ‘dot’! and who have no railway experience or management skills. When will the people in charge of such decisions earning megga salaries learn that this is not the way forward time and time this happens and nobody seems to learn from past mistakes 🤐

I know how you feel sometimes it does look daunting faced with all those electric Gismo’s 🥴 Basically in theory you don’t need the Heljan PCB board so firstly take a couple pictures of where the wires go and as you unclip the wires from the board mark each one with a bit of masking tape as to its function . From the pic your model has correct wiring colour codes for the motor and pick ups so it should be orange and grey to the motor red and black to the track . For the other wires you should have a fitting instruction sheet …plus functions …I do know that some suppliers tell you to go on line but I think a proper a set should be supplied. Just remember when you fit the motors they should be going in opposite directions I tend to mark the fly wheel with a marker pen to indicate direction of travel

Brewery is looking fantastic gentlemen like all goods things it takes time and patience to make thing look as good as your build is to date

After the very long journey down the rabbit hole when you get to the bottom you will then encounter ‘Track work ‘ in all its different forms ……but beware whilst walking on the ballast you might well find yet another rabbit hole ……it’ll probably take the form of a crevice between the sleepers better known to railwaymen as a ‘Wetbed’ 😱

WARNING ……..the 7mm ‘Rabbit Hole ‘ is very very deep ….the deeper you go the velocity increases to mind blowing proportions 😳

I use an Ifor Williams twin axle box trailer to taken my layouts to shows and have had no problems damage wise. The twin axle is essential not only for an even ride but balance behind your vehicle. The main thing is to pack the load evenly and keep the main weight over the twin axles plus make sure things are strapped down. The Ifor Williams trailers are not cheap even second hand but you will always get you money back years later if you were to sell it

Those two tone Class 47’s look good with the light reflecting of the sides one of my favourite liveries which suited the Class 47 😀

Having had experience with continental trailers as I have recently been pulling DFDS trailers out of Immingham the wooden slats are as much use as match wood. Because these trailers are made as light as possible due to the amount of ferry work they are involved in the whole upper structure is very flimsy and the posts that the wood slots into has a great deal of movement making any restraint minimal.

It’s very true about your (VOSA) comment and I think the problem nowerdays that if it’s not in the manual it must be wrong 😡

There’s still some sheet work on artic’s today mainly on fertiliser loads in tonne bags which must not be allowed to get wet during transportation. A lot of the flatbed trailer work today in the agricultural sector will involve sheet work with fertiliser and hay / straw.

I’m enjoying this brewery build and how your putting together the structures etc and it’s making me realise what is ahead of me when a I start building my first 7mm layout. Keep up the wonderful work gentlemen most enjoyable to follow 👍

Like the addition of the seagulls which are plentiful in the location modelled. This will of course now lead to further weathering requirements as we all know what a mess the birds leave around their regular roosting spots …..maybe some passengers might get ‘lucky’ 😬
