  1. Cracking video Andy really starting to get the Cornish freight scene now. Like the way you have done the control panel switches ie wiring them before setting them into the panel ….crafty bu99er ….must save a lot of fiddling about with the panel board getting tangled with the trailing wires ……not just a handsome face Sir
  2. Wow wow wow what a thread I’ve just spent an hour and a half reading through it and like many others am blown away by the magnificent skill and scale of this project. I have never in all the years that I’ve been on RMweb hit the craftsman/ clever button some many times . I would hate to think of the costs involved but it would be interesting
  3. Evening Mr P sorry to disturb your modelling time .......grumpy .....excellent video update Andy like the signals and the control panel. Interesting the Class 67 start off under load you'll have to explain that as it sounds very real .....keep up the good work
  4. He’s checking out the HP payments on the loan to buy that Andy like most of us are
  5. Very nice layout / stabling point developing here and as been said green period which isn’t modelled that often. Don’t make apologise for it being another stabling point to many of us locos are the main area of interest and a layout like this shows them off in all their glory
  6. Enjoyed the first running session Andy you really are an amazing person to have things up a running so quickly Not sure that all the modern stuff is quite my thing but that’s just personal , and if we were all like me they’d never be a layout built
  7. You been mixing with the wrong sort George ....again that Peter's fellow from Ampshire To be fair if your hearts not into the subject move on ...NEXT...look forward to be new adventure
  8. More like ‘Spiders from Mars’
  9. I bet you got your £60 quids worth of tea and biscuits Mr Peter’s Our happy band of modellers with no subscription for membership are going to the Liverpool Show today and being extremely brave / foolhardy and going by train as it usually a good show . Last show was Glasgow 18 mths ago so looking forward to seeing real live layouts and traders
  10. I think the post must be worn out up and down you drive like a yo-yo
  11. Cracking video Andy and very informative for all. Good to see an experience modeller taking to time and effort to pass on his skills to others. It is important that us older ones hand down our knowledge to the younger members although they probably have new and more ‘fandangle’ ways of achieving these things. I wander when wireless point motors will make an appearance ……..now that would take all the fun away
  12. Just thought of a problem with those sheds they won’t be wide enough for when you go back to 7mm
  13. Yes I know Andy but needs must and wagon drivers are needed to save the economy…….and I’m doing my bit for Queen and Country plus I do like my trucking days
  14. Blimey Andy I’m sure you said this was going to be a slow build I’d hate to see a quick one at this rate your going to be finished by Christmas then followed by a period of operation you’ll be bored by Easter and be hatching another plan and selling up again On a more positive note it’s looking very impressive and I for one am enjoying you progress …….every time I stop for a driver rest period more has be completed ……wonderful carry young man
  15. I was too quick there for you Andy as I know how much you love them …..well they are an ironic mode of transport
  16. Now how about that shortened HST set
  17. Yes Andy I think you have cracked the exit board with those ideas. It gets rid of the depth needed if you were to put in a viaduct , firmly puts the layouts location on the map and makes a scene not often modelled
  18. That picture Stu posted was the sort of idea I was thinking of but with culverts or storm drainage pipes plus boats instead of caravans. You could blend the scene with trees as the back scene as per the picture increasing the depth of field
  19. Just thinking about the doorway access board and the need for speed to exit the POD at certain times. You did mention the possible inclusion of a viaduct as a lift out section which would be difficult to duck under unless you can do ‘limbo dancing’ . It occurred to me that if you were to make a low embankment with drainage culverts as if the line is transversing marshland the board would not need to be too much lower than the other boards .
  20. Layout is coming together a treat Andy just love the sweeping formation that you have achieved it does make the layout appear much larger . Sounds like you have reached a tipping point with regards to the control panel display. The only thing I could say is what are you most comfortable with and which will make the operation more enjoyable it really is down to personal choice.
  21. Coming on nicely I have to admire your patience not an easy thing to build
