A Happy New Year from Chester Northgate shed to all who have followed my thread this year. Layout is booked to appear at the Wigan Show 2017 so there will be some updates and added extras to be done during this coming year. I'm hoping to add a J10 or two to the roster in time for Wigan as they were several still on shed here up to the end of the 1950's I have actually got three kit built examples in the project box so I'm hoping to least get two working with new more up 'to date motor and gear box drive systems' which will work better on the DCC control. Also all are in LNER livery so will have to be respayed and suitably weathered . I have also managed to purchase another 00 works C13 which will need DCC conversation with sound again they were good engines that were still around up the 1959 operating the Wrexham and New Brighton services.

Excellent thread started here should be very informative to follow as it's an area which is not covered in as much detail as it should be as trees can have a big effect on layouts if done properly.

Hi Andy This is looking really interesting like the way you have got a run round loop into the plan will make for far more interesting operation. I mention the old Shrewsbury Abbey station earlier part of the Shropshire & Montgomery Railway which was of course part of the MOD system in the surrounding area and have been digging through my photo's as I knew i had a shot of an 08 shunter in operation at the Shrewsbury end Looking forward to seeing this one develop mate

A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A PEACEFUL NEW YEAR. Have to report that unlike Network Rail there are no engineering blockades at Chumley End this Christmas as all PW and Signalling staff are either at home with their families or in the pub getting very Drunk ......hick up !!!!!!!! Unfortunately there are still no trains running due to an engineering over run from last year and the Railway Board apologies for any inconvenience that this might cause....

That trackwork on Vaunhan45 layout is absolutely stunning, it just goes to show what good balasting and carefully thought out weathering can do to really make Peco track look good. Thanks for sharing that thread .

Hi Andy When you look at shuffling your trackwork have a think about Y points as they can be great space savers .... know this might mean buying more points ... I presume peck do Y points in I gauge anyway just a thought cheers
