  8. Hi Kevin I do agree, it is one of the best on the RMWeb... Love all the photo's you put on here, When and where at is it next due at a show... Jamie
  9. Hi Peter It must be pretty hard to do a layout to the exact scale and size, and to keep within room size or to make it as an exhibition layout, i would imagine you would have to take transportation of the layout into consideration, sometime we have to choose what to keep in or on a layout and what is too big or too far away from the place we try to make a layout of. To make the buildings we choose to have on a layout fit, we make them smaller in size or only part of or to have it as part of a back scene... if you were to actually make it to scale length when based on a physical location, it would probably be huge to huge it will never be exhibited or never seen by the public at shows... on top of that no one will want it at a show because of the 300ft layout (ha-ha) it would have to be. For that reason I take it some part of a layout have to be images we dream up or make it to fit, so all the building so to speak are all based locally but just haven’t been put where they should because of having to squeeze everything into our 16' layout. All the Photos are great and the layout look great, even if it not to true scale, it’s still a layout to run what we like to see running even if it’s never run there, although expected I suppose for a show to only run what used to run... More Photos... the Layout is great mate... Jamie
  10. Hi Peter Have you managed to do anymore Plastering today (Sunday)... or Anymore advancements on the Building work... Jamie
  11. Hi Polly The layout plans look great mate, how many modification did you go through before you came to settle on that Plan... Love it, and look forward to seeing it in real life... Jamie
  12. Hi All I thought I would have a little go of bringing the real life photos into Peters work, normally this is done by adding Sky, but couldn’t quiet find the right angle of water, but that just means I am now on a mission to resolve that as I generally have plenty of photos in my back catalogue to add most things to give that touch of realism... I thought I would use the pictures that are looking down from the top of the rock tunnel, I have also added the original photo and also the modified after adapting it.... Enjoy... Original 1 Modified with Sea 1 Original 2 Modified with Sea 2 Original 3 Modified with Sea 3 Jamie
  13. Hi All Peter as been on the job again today with another Plaster Mix... Jamie
  14. Hi All Some Photos of the Dock and the Boat with some background work progress, taken while Peter was hard at working on the layout... Jamie
  15. Hi Khris I can assure you, Peter as done a lot in the last few days, I know I have been there at his side watching him do it all, I just take 1000's of photos and then when I get home I try and pick the best ones that show progress of that days work.... it takes my a night to downsize the files sizes ready for upload... But yes its all Peter's work and all done within these last few days... Jamie
  16. Hi Peter Impressive... what scale is that... it appears to dwarf the rest of the layout... It an illusion, I see that from the 4th Photo down of the castle, you have to guess which one is nearer the Castle or the Abbey in the distance... mmmm or is it I say to myself.... Jamie
  17. Hi Again Finally for today or tonight I should say The Plaster Peter uses... Any Question I'm sure Peter will Answer them all for you... Jamie
  18. Hi All This is the part I love to watch Peter done, and I think it's also Peter's many favourites that he as, that is disappearing all that behind the scene work by covering it with Plaster, This is where I think the Layout starts to take on its final shape as the rest of it will be flocking, this is the part Peter brings the Scenery it shape using is many shaping tools to create the right Cliff or Rock or Field and the Rolling Hill... Product Peter uses to cover the poly with is, the amount varies depending on how severer he wants it to look: 7.5kg Undercoat Plaster, Base Coat for finishing Plaster Any Questions for Peter... are welcome... Jamie
  19. Hi All So ones all the Aggregate between the sleeper as set and stuck solid, Peter return back to the job suck up the job... Top Tip: Peter always uses his Rechargeable Hover to suck up all the excess bits that didn’t stick down and all that get recycled back in to the system, ready for when he uses that colour aggregate again, Peter does this for quite a lot of jobs and I must admit saves him extra money and also gets the full value for his money. Next comes the soldering of the Rails onto the sleepers (Copper Clad) Even I miss bits that Peter as done, I'd been standing next to this for a good few hours before Peter pointed it out to me, that he done some more work on the building below... Comments Welcome... Jamie
  20. Hi All While waiting for the Sleepers to dry off, Peter got straight down to building the buildings... As you can see Peter spends a lot of time and hours just on buildings, yet alone on the building of the layout to put them all on... Jamie
  21. Continue... Then there was putting the sleepers back in place on the Single Track... Jamie
  22. Hi Again Continue from the above Post... This also mean that the Single Rail was also miss aligned, so Peter got straight down to correcting the issue... Any Comments are most Welcome... Jamie
  23. Hi All These Photos are of when Peter Joined the Boards together of what he thought the track was aligned up but upon looking the next morning had somehow miss matched in the height between the Station board and the next board... So Peter got straight down to work with altering and modifying the track to match so there was no skew-if track and that it was straight and all ran smoothly from one rail to the next adjoining board, the operation was completed and all sorted out, which delayed the process slightly... the unexpected hiccups along the way of making a Layout... All Comments to Peter are Welcome.... Jamie
  24. Hi All Just some Photos Sorted in Order as it heads towards to Station... Jamie
