  1. If anyone is after a bit off piste action with a 2Bil, Derby RTC had 2037 in 1972 when it was the only air braked stock available, not sure what they used it on or with, but an interesting use for the forthcoming? Mike.
  2. No need to spend oceans of money, I re gauge my wheels with a GW Models gear puller, (other gear pullers are available), I just find it more controllable than braying it with a 4lb lump hammer. Then again, I use a half inch wood chisel to modify my wagons, so who am I to preach? Mike.
  3. Ah, the Andy Cooper school of wheel adjustment I see, ruffass Mike.
  4. D83 something or other, about 1967 would be my guess. Mike.
  5. There are other pictures around Carlisle of this special showing the train, and the second coach is definitely maroon, but whether it's the same end of the train as your pic? Mike.
  6. Does she an equally unquestioning sister by any chance? Mike.
  7. Good spot. I was just working on identifying it. Of the first batch it can only be either 12007/14/15/18/19, although all were cut up in various parts of Rotherham by 4/68, so the date of 30/4/68 to be being towed there is a bit late I think. Of the second batch 12026 is the only possibility, but the same facts and figures as above apply. All in all, interesting and requiring further research. Mike.
  8. I'm presuming you didn't use Dave's buffers, as he doesn't do flat topped LMS coach buffers, who's did you get ? I've used either the Comet or 247 standard ones and filed the flat on. As a further aside, when did bogie CCT's start being called GUV's?, confuses the hell out of me cos I call the Lima model the former and everyone else seems to call it the latter, even though 4 wheel CCT's still are CCT's Mike
  9. Colin, it does have a collectibility value to someone, hence the bidding. So things that were given away free have no place in an auction room and must not be bid upon? There are many items which are exactly thus and have strong resale values, the NatWest pigs for example. Mike.
  10. I would, and I'll tell everybody! Mike.
  11. Avocado Green was available from October 1975 as the P6 range was now offered only in colours that the new SD1 would be wearing. Avocado would have an optional Ebony roof and sills, from this year the roof trim was offered on the 2200 range also. Depending on which year you pick for the P6, be careful of the seat trim style, interior mirror shape and stem, colour of "wood" inserts and a few other things, not to mention engine options. If I can be of any assistance. Mike. (Not a P6 fan in any way!)
  12. Looks like a Mk1 on it's way back home from York carriage works, and a Heaton Met Camm on it's way to Doncaster works. Mike.
  13. Just received a few of the new Bill Bedford 3D printed 42' uderframe and bogie kits, a one stop shop for making the Lima model something like. I'm in the process of fitting the first one, which is proving to be pretty straightforward, although Bills instructions are not much help! I'll keep you posted. Mike.
  14. Don't forget the DMU, usually tagged on the rear of the consist, when travelling to and from works. 5A00 on the ECML was a favourite for this,
  15. Must have been related to my 1959 VW beetle, deposited a mate on a roundabout in Rotherham! Mike.
  16. Don't forget the sound chip for the rattly front bumper, seemed to be standard issue on all CA's. Mike.
  17. Depends how much the Judith Edge kit will be. Mike.
  18. A good place to start. http://brdatabase.info/index.php Mike. Edited to include link. Oooops.
  19. This may not be madness as I don't know the collector market, but, sheesh. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIANG-TRI-ANG-TT-BOXED-T96-A1A-BRUSH-DEISEL-D5501-ALMOST-MINT-AND-BLUE-/150970429677?_trksid=p2045573.m2102&_trkparms=aid%3D555003%26algo%3DPW.CAT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D33%26meid%3D4523952010324269755%26pid%3D100034%26prg%3D1031%26rk%3D2%26 Mike.
  20. Just wait until we see what size rivets the numberplate has been fitted to the bumper with, you ain't seen nothing yet! Mike. (I would have used a smiley, but they are greyed out for some reason)
  21. Strange registration in a way because Guy Motors were based in Wolverhampton I believe, so a JW would seem on the face of it to be more likely, perhaps central purchasing was based in Sheffield and a local distributor used? Mike.
  22. Sheffield registered as well, used to see these all round Brightside/Grimesthorpe. Now there's a thought, make the vehicles/buildings removable on BCB, and we can have a SEEB, (Sheffield's East End Blues) ? Mike.
