  1. Not quite. The bug was just doom mongering. Having worked in I.T. during that time and having been trained in Corporate Data Protection, UK/EU Data Protection (not up to speed on the GDPR though) and the Human Rights Act I would compare the over reaction to GDPR to the same as the frequently miss used and misquoted Human Rights Act. Based on the letter I received from Locomotion Model but not on the labelling of model because I've still not got mine a quick risk assessment. No card information included. Data that may have been breached Name and address. Telephone number and E-mail address. Therefore risk factor very low.
  2. Its about revenge. They would gain nothing financially but the Science Museum Group could lose a lot. If it is believed there has been a data breach there is a process to go through, which I am not going to discuss here. If that process concludes a breach has occurred a fine could be made but they would NOT profit from it.
  3. A certain very well known ex British company moved some production to Turkey long before Brexit was even thought about. How do I know. I worked in the factory that was shutdown when production was transfered to Turkey and Canada.
  4. I agree that is should be on a host service but you never know. Dave if its your emails to him bouncing back get someone else to try his address as a prospective customer in case he is using a bounce back utility on your mails
  5. Dave his sounds an awful situation to be in. When you say mails are bouncing back do you mean from you to him. Do you have the web pages or have they been uploaded to a hosting service or were you using him as a hosting service? Edit I know of a shop that has used this for a number of years http://www.hikashop.com
  6. Only came back in here to make the following observation. In model shop this afternoon talking to someone in his 70's. His order had been placed by phone by some one for him. He received 3 on Monday and he was really worried that he would be charged for the extra 2 leaving him a bit short of money. Did my best to reassure him that the extras were misdirected deiveries and that he would not be charged. I'm not sure he was totally convinced. Mean time I'm still waiting to hear from Locomotion/APC
  7. I need to stop viewing this thread. The great photos of what looks a stunning model just makes it all the more frustrating and annoying that I have no idea when I'll be getting mine. Locomotion need to be emailing customers and not rely on RMWeb. Enjoy your models guys.
  8. Thanks for that Andy and yes i realise they will have tracking info but sometimes people are just plain stupid. I remember a case several months ago when a young lady found her bank balance had increased a considerable amount. So she she went on a spending spree not expecting to have to pay it back.
  9. Letter just arrived from Locomotion containing the 2 web page orders , deposit and final payment. The chains and a cover letter with a satisfaction survey on the back. I think the shipping process on that is going to get a low score. And Jason I posted my views before today because there was enough information in posts in this thread to determine that there was a problem which would probably develop into a major issue.
  10. Just got back in and catching up. I'm not gloating at being proved right. My only concern is that I get the expensive model I ordered. 3 years ago Some people on here are showing their honesty by refusing to take delivery of extras but unfortuntely even in the model railway world not everyone is as honest. Ebay could be an interesting place to look at later today and tomorrow
  11. Wow! A light bulb moment. Perhaps now people will stop casting me as the villain in this because I speak my mind and NO Stuart is not the villain either he has been badly let down by APC Any way in absence of an email I'm now on my way out.
  12. That was a quick change.! Unfortunately for Stuart I suspect he has learned what I learned a long time ago when working, that if you depend on a 3rd party to do the work then make sure you plan every last detail and cater for all contingencies. Because unfortunately you cannot rely on other people, they will let you down.
  13. You're correct it doesn't explain that issue. As I said before - a shambles. 1) The possibility of not getting them all out on the same day should have been planned for so dispatch on first come first served should have been done. That could have reduced some concerns. 2 ) Because of the possibility of not getting them all out on the same day dispatch should have been delayed until Monday and then continued on Tuesday thus avoiding a 4 day gap. 3) A post on this forum stating all UK orders had been dispatched should not have been made because as has been shown that raised several concerns.
  14. Thanks for the update but why Tuesday/Wednesday? Why not Monday/Tuesday?
  15. I'm begining to suspect that I shall have to email them tomorrow as I've heard nothing. Its not rocket science to take orders, collect money, notify about delivery and dispatch item.
  16. Can I ask when you ordered? Trying to get a feel for how they are shipping as I placed my order in April 2016. Edit my mistake that should be 2015. thats what happens when you transfer mails from an old computer to a new one - look at the date in the mail not what the software says.
  17. IMHO the old is way is still the best. Layout the track onto the board using drawing pins (thumb tacks) as temporary fixing while you work out the design. I've used computer design software and then found myself changing the plan as I laid the track.
  18. I've no doubt someone said the same about the first trains, cars and steam ships.
  19. You said iTunes reported it in Recovery mode well if you search the web for your IOS version you may find a method to get it out of Recovery mode. But from experience with IOS devices Recovery mode usually means a problem with IOS so it could happen again so the best option is a restore.
  20. It may be a bit late now but if you have stuff on the phone that is important you really should back it up to iTunes or iCloud. It is worth it. I on occasion had to use iTunes to factory reset my iPad and iPod. nothing was lost because they are backed up to iTunes. Issues that can cause problems like freezing can be software problems not just hardware and a factory reset is the only way to cure it if its software.
  21. Face To The Wind - Grace Slick
  22. Amazon Echo. I bought one for home control because its cheaper than Apple HomePod and reviews say Alexa is far better than Siri and the speaker is supposed to be OK quality. The speaker is crap and I got p***** off with hearing "Sorry I'm having difficulty understanding right now please try later". Now I have an Apple HomePod, sound is far superior and maybe Siri is not as good at answering inane questions but is a million times better with regards home control.
  23. What I miss is the 'Bounce' option that used to be in Mail on the Mac. If it got back to the sender it looked as though your email address no longer existed. I wish they would bring it back. Edit: the reason they gave for removing was that it confirmed the email had been received, but I found that it did stop many junk emails from coming again.
