  1. Yes it looks good and plenty of potential for bashing about to make other modern buildings.
  2. Ahh spotted the banger in invader colours. Great pics.
  3. Coil P finished and in use on the layout
  4. Great stuff one of my relations had one and it was built in true British Leyland style it fitted where it touched same could be said for my dad’s Allegro. The model is actually ready to run and came in that state.
  5. 03034 with a single MDV wagon with a scrap load waits for its crew to return and it’ll be off then to Cockshute sidings. Class 03 shunters weren’t seen around north Staffordshire but they’re my favorite shunter. So rule one applies it’s my trainset. Ive got the layout set up giving it a run in preparation for its first outing early next year current situation depending.
  6. Looking really good do like the street lights they make the scene.
  7. Thank you for the above comments Martyn most appreciated. The layout is stored and it’s next show should be Warley in 2022 if it goes ahead.
  8. Great to catch up today and good you’ve put the pics up so we can get a good overall view of the layout. Like the night shot.
  9. The layout is set up for its first show which is being put on by members of the Alsager railway association. See advert in above post. The layout will be in Manchester mode with First North Western being the predominant operator. The proceeds of the show are going to the air ambulance and the school hosting the show. Looking forward to seeing how it goes. The layout isn’t finished but at least it’s presentable. Thanks Steve
  10. With the Alsagers bank show later this month I’ve been working on the scenic details on the layout The station has had nameboards added and seats. On other areas I’ve started to add small details such as the beer terrace on top of the station. Odd bits of greenery have been glued in position as well.
  11. Latest wagon I am working on is a Dapol BEV E bolster. I’ve added the very basic cradles that some received for carrying steel coils (designated coil P) They were put on the deck over the bogies and were in reality timber baulks fastened in place. I’ve used plastic strip and wood for mine. I have already painted the floor in differing colours. I can now start with the weathering process. The coils are resin cast then covered with tissue paper and painted using washes of railmatch weathered black paint. This will run with my 4 wheel KJO coil wagons already done as a small coil train. 3 other Dapol E bolsters are being weathered up as well where two will be loaded with steel sections and the left other empty.
  12. Giving the new Dapol 142s a run and they’re pictured stabled in the station ready for services in the morning. I intend adding some details before the show at Alasgers Bank at the end of the month. I’ve added station name boards other station hardware to follow.
  13. I have been thinking how Hillport will fit in the car I know it fits as I’ve had it all in but with the end sidings board not being paired up with another board it’s wasting a lot of space above it when loaded. So I've made a substantial cover for it so bags can be put on top or as the pic shows the stock boxes sit in compartments made for them. Roll on February and Modelrail Scotland.
  14. Ryecroft Arena will make its public debut at this show. It’s very local to me as I can see Alasagers bank from my bedroom window. The layout won’t be finished but it’s in a presentable state. Looking forward to showing it for the first time. More details of the show and other layouts attending can be found in the exhibitions section on Rm web where the show has its own thread. Thanks Steve
  15. Just to add I’ve been invited to bring a layout so it’ll be the public debut of Ryecroft Arena my new N gauge small space layout.
  16. Can vouch for the view been there many times. Think its named after the Nigel Gresley who built the canal that ran from Apedale to Newcastle-Under-Lyme which is in the next valley.
  17. I’ll no doubt be there as I can see Alsagers Bank from my bedroom window. Meatloaf Alasagers Bank isn’t in Alsager it’s about three miles away.
  18. Three pics of the finished 3D printed BNX steel coil carrier I’ve been test building for a friend. Its pictured in the sidings on Hillport Goods. Steve
  19. Looking like it’s next outing will be closer to home at Macclesfield at the end of March.
  20. It’s looking like Hillport Goods first show is going to be Modelrail Scotland in Glasgow at the end of February 2022. All things crossed hoping it goes ahead. Thanks Steve.
  21. A couple of pics taken over the weekend at the Barrow show. It a most was an enjoyable weekend running trains and talking to folks. The layout worked well with the new rolling stock running well.
  22. Lymebrook Yard is appearing at the Barrow on Furness show this coming weekend. It’s my only show this year and after 18 months I am glad to be getting out and about again. Details of the show can be found in the exhibitions thread.
  23. I’ve been getting the layout sorted ready for Barrow in Furness show October 9th/ 10th. I’ll be running some of the new rolling stock which is mainly wagons I’ve built/ bought over the last 18 months these include Revolution PCV cement tanks, all of these have been weathered and are a superb model. N gauge society 4 wheel open wagon kits (ex LMS LNER GWR). These were passed down to the engineers department and were mainly used for spoil. Some have been sheeted over and have been made into china clay wagons representing the type that were used in the clayliner trains to the Potteries. Other stock again N gauge society kit builds are D bolster steel carriers and the Tunny engineers wagon. Hopefully see some of you there. Thanks. Steve.
  24. Looking forward to bringing Lymebrook Yard to the show next month.
