  1. Well I have GWR, LMS, SR and LNER wagons. For the pre-grouping I have L&YR, MR, H&BR, SECR, LSWR and LBSCR wagons. When put together they look the part.
  2. Your selection of wagons is something I do like. You have an excellent set of GWR, LMS, LNER, SR and the pre-grouping companies. This is something I feel you don't see often nowadays with layouts because people get a lot of the manufactured models. This is what I feel makes a layout more realistic when you have a mixture of the grouping and pre-grouping rolling stock on a layout.
  3. Anyone interested in splashing out £1200 on this at all? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Grafar-00-GWR-Suburban-Composite-Coach-269-used-3-/290542225803?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item43a5aa898b Garethp8873.
  4. Although this rather late now, I did email Harburn Hobbies in September of last year regarding their periods. My reply was: I myself would like some clarification over this before I order the wagons. Garethp8873.
  5. This Dapol LMS Stove R could be yours for the wonderful price of £50.00 with free P&P. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dapol-LMS-00-gauge-6-wheel-Stove-R-Passenger-Brake-/290537814589?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item43a5673a3d Garethp8873.
  6. I find it rather cheeky when ebayers use more than one account to sell their stuff. This ebayer I know has had several negative comments over several months.
  7. I did find myself a great bargain on ebay in the form of two LMS Coronation Carriages. LMS 1071 for £10 and LMS 5052 for £11.50, both being from around 2002 onwards. This is what I consider a true bargain! Considering how much I have seen some people bid for these carriages, this was certainly out of luck! Here they are: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280629852905 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280629841703 I would say I find it harder to find a good bargain nowadays on ebay. The amount of times I have kicked myself for overspending on models that I could have gotten cheaper elsewhere. I even now have suspicions about an ebayer who could be using two accounts to sell their models. Reason for this is because their location is the same and the layouts look very similar. Although I cannot prove this, it just makes me wonder why have two accounts to sell your stuff on? Garethp8873.
  8. I know LMS Coronation Carriages are a scarce item but for this price? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hornby-LMS-Coronation-Coach-Maroon-/130485354405?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item1e61887fa5 Supposedly a rare item. What a load of bull! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BR-TOAD-BRAKE-VAN-STAFFORD-ROAD-RARE-WEATHERED-/220737766595?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3364ff04c3 Garethp8873.
  9. This ebayer is one of the worst I have seen. Considering I have bought many of the wagons he has for around £5 at my local railway, I definitely know where I will be going for my next shop. Gareth.
  10. There is one ebayer I have seen around on ebay, who puts (SUPER) and (LOOK) in brackets next to the title of the model. Why do that??
  11. I do remember one time on ebay were Rails of Sheffield were selling a LMS Pug 11232 (this being the first one Hornby made). I have two of this version in my collection one being bought for £25 and the other £20. The Rails of Sheffield Pug went for between £45 and £50! In the case of rarity, I find the LMS Pug 11250 to be the rarer of the Hornby LMS Pugs. As for the BR version I find either 51235 or 51218 appear less. Mind with the release of the Pug this year, I feel the demand will drop. Another thing I found to be ridiculous on ebay, is the desire for the 2000/2001 Bachmann LTD Collectors Club Wagon S.J.Claye Ltd. Everytime I see one of these wagons pop on ebay, they go for insane prices! I myself have been looking for one of these wagons mainly because I like the livery. Another wagon is the Bachmann Kalchester Tank Wagon. I was lucky enough to win this last year with three other Tankers for around 18.00. Garethp8873.
  12. I find this Hornby L&YR Class 21 Pug 51218 to be a clear rip off. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hornby-0-4-0ST-Pug-Locomotive-VERY-RARE-/250759206221?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3a6269d54d This has been floating around on ebay for a few weeks now. No wonder he has not been able to sell it! I would certainly not spend that type of money on Pug. I will say that I love Pugs, but not that much! Garethp8873.
  13. This is a rather delightful looking GWR layout. Mind me asking can you take any photos of your Slaters (ex-MR) LMS 10t Van at all? I have one in a livery similar to yours and I would like to see how you have done yours. Garethp8873.
