  1. Afternoon all. Firstly apologies for the rushed post this morning but I had to get back down to the Valley to get some more photos of the visiting diesels BR Class 17 D8568 and BR Class 52 D1015 Western Champion. Both diesels have arrived for the upcoming Diesel Gala on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd October. Was well worth the wait seeing the Class 17 and 52. Sadly I didn't get to see the visiting LMS 6100 Royal Scot but always tomorrow or next week to see it... Link to the main album on Flickr: 09th September 2015 - Kidderminster
  2. Very attractive, thankfully not in SR Wartime Black otherwise I would've just easily burnt £109.99....
  3. Even though I model steam, I have to admit I didn't think of the BR Class 117 when I was looking at the rolling stock list for the GWR. An interesting choice...
  4. Very good to see Mark. Has always puzzled me to why Bachmann never upgraded their Salt wagon chassis... Only problem I've got now is that I have around 20+ Salt wagons that could do with this upgrade!!
  5. Thank you Steve, I will do then. Btw, here's a link to my photostream. Enjoy it
  6. Hey guys, made another visit today to the SVR. Today's visit was to sort out my volunteer work at the Diesel Depot in Kidderminster. Whilst there I was able to get some photos of the recently restored 1947 built GWR Vanfit 65620 and 1896 built GWR Improvised Gunpowder Van 58725. Both very well restored wagons and ones I hope to see take their place the Autumn Gala in a few weeks. Also made a detour to Kidderminster to see how things were around there too... Do guys mind me posting a selection of my photos here whenever I go to the SVR at all?
  7. 4 years after pre-ordering it on the 21/12/2011, I will soon be getting my hands on Bachmann/Rails of Sheffield LMS 10000. Fingers crossed before I go to Manchester Gay Pride...!!

  8. Well it's been a very good year for the SVR so far. With the Autumn Steam Gala and Diesel Gala coming ahead soon plus Tornado visiting in October it's going to be a wonderful conclusion to the railway's 50th Anniversary Celebrations. Looking forward to seeing Port Talbot/GWR 813 and 7802 Bradley Manor return to steam soon as well.
  9. Had to pop up to Kidderminster on Saturday as I am looking to help out on the Diesel depot as well as Bewdley MPD now and again. Was great to see old and reliable GWR 5764 out on display at Kidderminster Station. Whilst down the yard also got a few photos of Class 50s Exeter and Ark Royal, plus the Hymek and Class 08s and 09 'Dick Hardy'...
  10. Do you have anymore photos of the wagon please?
  11. A fine looking wagon. Is this the Dapol kit by chance?
  12. I received my six kits today from Parkside Dundas and I have to say I am impressed with the kit as always. Hopefully I'll be soon sending my kits to a friend to be built and my hope is to have three D1661s and three D1840s. The D1840s will depend on how much tweaking is required to get the doors looking right. If it's too much hassle, then I will have two or three D1661's built and keep the others for a later date...
  13. Two years on... 1,300,116 views and today 9020 photos. Many thanks to all who look at my photos on Flickr!!

  14. At the end of the day, the final result is certainly going to be worth it no matter how long it takes. Personally I'd rather they take their time and bring out a fine looking model. From past experience I rather people take their time... I cannot remember if I've asked this question before, but are there thoughts to doing the accompanying Autotrailers at all?
  15. I've just gone and ordered six of these cattle wagons. Been looking forward to this kit since hearing about it in January/February this year. Even better to hear that with some tweaking, you can do the D1840 diagram. Will you be doing the D1840 alongside the D1661 diagram? Be interesting to see how the completed PD kit looks when compared to the Slaters one I own (below).
  16. Thank you for posting your photos on the Parkside Dundas LMS Cattle wagons. It's good to learn that like the GWR MICA Van that PD do, you can make two different diagrams from the same kit. Ordering mine now
  17. When did Cambrian ever make a GSWR 16t double end door mineral wagon...?

Have you got any photos you can send me at all Martin? Would really like to see the kit when it's been built. Was a complete surprise to see one of these kits on ebay last night. Will be my first and only Glasgow and South Western wagon so far...!!

  18. Was down at Didcot Railway Centre and I had the luck on my side yesterday with GWR 93 and 92...!! Some excellent photos and a great ride up and down the Demonstration Line Always amazes everytime I see this steam locomotive. A remarkable and lucky survivor. Cannot wait to see one of these in OO now!! Seeing 93 yesterday has even tempted me to add the preserved model to my current order of GWR 97!!
  19. Another good visit to Didcot Railway Centre!! https://www.flickr.com/photos/svr_enthusiast/sets/72157656654600815

Glad you had a great day - lots of lifting and shunting done today!

  20. I was finally able to get a copy of Cheona ICI Hopper Wagons book on Friday and it has certainly helped me. Ordered sixteen of the ICI Hoppers as that seems to about right. With me ordering sixteen and the obvious case that twelve of these will need renumbering, is there anywhere you get transfers for these wagons at all? I was down at the SVR two weeks ago on Saturday and once again had a look at the ICI Hoppers the SVR has. Only dawned on me that the grey paintwork that's now emerging on the underneath of 19052 (3252) possibly stems from when it was built in 1938...!! Certainly was built to last it seems...!!
  21. What's with me and always wanting buildings that are no longer being produced...!!

Looking for a duplicate set of Great Central Station buildings. Fingers crossed on the steps but the other two items are going to be "SUCH FUN"!!

  22. New Flickr set from the SVR. A few shots of Taw Valley and the usual rolling stock shots. https://www.flickr.com/photos/svr_enthusiast/sets/72157655736454851

  23. Decided to unbox both the Southern liveried LSWR 700s yesterday as I ain't properly looked at them since purchase this time last week... an excellent purchase!! Two different liveries, E695 in SR Black with Green lining and 325 in SR Black livery. A splendid duo...!!
