  1. I purchased this one from ebay in 2013 along with alot of other wagons from oakleafomx. Last year I sent it away to get refurbished and below the finished result. Will be happy to add three more of the D1661's to accompany this one...
  2. I was thinking Slaters, but I've only ever seen them to MR Cattle wagon...
  3. Whilst I had heard about the LMS Cattle wagon from Parkside Dundas a few months ago, the GWR Y4 Banana Van is added bonus!! Will certainly have to increase the Banana traffic on the layout now. As for the LMS Cattle wagon (no offence to what Bachmann has done) but I am finally happy to see a proper LMS D1661 model available to us. Has anyone else done the D1661 prior to Parkside Dundas at all? I've a plastic built D1661 but I'm not sure who originally would've made the kit...
  4. I purchased the set for £210 today. To then see if I was getting my money's worth, I "priced" the 700 at around £95 as that is what I've been told I will pay when my supplier get the SR R3238. As for the coaches which came to £115, I divided them by 3 and rounded the price to around £38.33. Added up it came to £209.00. At the end of the day I don't that as a bad price for this set. But that just what I think...
  5. Happy to say that I've got the 1940 Return to Dunkirk set on it's way to me soon. From what I've of the set in photos sent to me by AGR Model Centre, it looks great...!! Didn't think though that this set was meant to be out yet though...!! I was thinking that the regular SR 700 would come first and this later on. Ah well at the end of the day I'm not going to complain!! Garethp8873.
  6. Having now got four GWR 4200s; 4261 and 3 4283s (two of which need renumbering), I was annoyed at myself that I hadn't seen a proper GWR 4200 in the flesh hence me being determined to see 4270 this weekend. From what I've heard, the current lettering is only tempory and will be replaced by GREAT WESTERN at a later date. She was a real joy to photograph and ride behind as well...!!
  7. I pre-ordered the SR version of the LSWR 700 for £95 + P&P from the AGR Model Railway Store in Leighton Buzzard. A much better offer I think when compared to Hattons...
  8. This weekend gone, I finally got down to the Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway with my main aim of seeing GWR 4270. I will certainly say I wasn't disappointed with this beautiful loco. An amazing transformation and one that all of the GWR should be pleased with. I certainly hope to see 4270 again soon...
  9. Nearly the end of a week off from work and how to finish it off but doing some railway photography around Bristol. Visited the Bristol Harbour Railway and with the camera this time. Visited the Gloucester and Warwickshire and finally saw the "Green Goddess" 4270!! Finished off with rolling stock shots at Bristol Temple Meads and a shot of 70000 Britannia...!! As always all photos are on my Flickr page. Any favs or comments are always appreciated...!! https://ww...

  10. Latest Flickr set just gone up on. Once again Didcot Railway Centre. Main focus of the trip today was see the Star Tugs exhibition of the characters from the 1988 television show. An excellent day once again and plenty of photos. Link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/svr_enthusiast/sets/72157654061786746

  11. Latest Flickr set from Saturday just gone; Didcot Railway Centre for the V/E event. Was a fantastic day and I got to look at the impressive range of GWR coaches in their Carriage Shed. Link is below: https://www.flickr.com/photos/svr_enthusiast/sets/72157652472275806

  12. Whilst I am most certainly interested in ordering a rake of these wagons, my knowledge surrounding these wagons isn't good. Since I model a layout in the Big Four era, would the ICI Hoppers with a mid grey body or battleship grey body be the apropriate ones...?
  13. This is what I like about Oxford Rail. They are being bold and thinking outside the box rather than looking at their competitors are doing more or less. An interesting wagon I look forward to getting several of for my layout. Having seen two of the preserved ones (19052 and 19129 on the SVR below), I find them to be domineering vehiches. Cannot wait to see them in OO...!!
  14. Paid for and on her way to me...!!
  15. I got my LNER J15 today and I have to say I am very impressed with the LNER livery...!! Just cannot believe how small she is. Got it from AGR Model Railway Store. Excellent service and price too...!!
  16. All done...!! Cadbury 346 completed and outshopped...!! Last photo I will be posting of 346 now as I not want to choke this thread with photos of the same van LOL ...!!
  17. If you've ever read negative feedback from his customers that have not been happy, he never aims to resolve the situation. He always become defensive and leaves a 'bitchy' comment in response. Example of one of these situations: Ebayer - "Not good.Rec'd damaged.Poorly packed.Quibbling over refund.Wont use again." Response - "this is a trader ,trying the silly reck your buisness ploy never works" If this had been me the situation of receiving negative feedback, I would done everything to sort out the situation so both sides were happy. In the case of the HO USTC Dock Tank, it seems clear from his replies to Mighty that he knew what he had wasn't a ModelRail model. Surely an a Google search or look on a forum would have told you that the ModelRail model hasn't come out yet. I reckon if the sale had gone ahead as originally listed then the ebayer would have been giving him negative feedback rather than positive...!!
  18. From reading the email replies Mighty had with the individual, his cockiness and arrogance has not changed...!! I once knew this ebayer as a friend several years ago but we fell out when he claimed I had stolen several items off him...!! I've always been a believer in the phrase 'What goes around comes around' and to see this happen to him has cheered me up big time...!!
  19. Thanks to Phil for directing to me to this thread... I will post my question that put up on the Help Page onto here: Since Hornby announced their BR hoppers at Warley last year and upon realising that the wagon is a LNER design, I've been looking at getting several of these reverted into their former LNER liveries rather than BR. Having looked through at the wagon sketch and photo on P.91 of Peter Tatlow's LNER Wagons Vol 4, am I right in thinking that the wagon is based on the Hurst Nelson version? If so, am I limited to just doing Hurst Nelson LNER Hoppers?
  20. The GWR Loriot W looks good...!! You got any more photos we can see of it? What type of transfers did you use on this wagon?
  21. After seeing the production models of the S&DJR wagon pack on Saturday, I ordered them today and I look forward to getting them. Just wondering now if they're doing their usual England, Scotland and Wales Coal Trader set as well...? Also can anyone explain the background history to the Naval Store Dept. Tank wagon that was released at Warley please? Is it to do with the First World War?
  22. Well the photo at the very bottom shows a Shunter truck attached to a Class 08 in 1985!! Just a shame we don't know the number...
  23. I think I have found the photo you maybe thinking of Jenny!! It's surprising to see this example has had the toolbox removed from it.
  24. Long shot question coming up but you never know in this day and age... A friend has asked me if I know when the last GWR Shunter Truck was withdrawn from service. Any takers on this question...?
  25. Hello Peter!! Here's a photo Cadburys 346 at Bewdley that I took last weekend whilst doing MPD work at the Severn Valley. From what I know, the lettering on the other side of the wagon just needs doing and it'll be complete!! Looks stunning now.
