  1. I suspect that they are just removing the foliage as they might be worried that it will damage the foundations of the viaduct. The viaduct was declared unsafe decades ago, so nothing is going to be going across it without a lot of rebuilding work.
  2. If they do then it will have to be a small production run as I remember model shop bargain bins being full of the Lima version in the 80s as they couldn't sell them!
  3. They do kind of look like chipmunks in that picture! Also that's the official naming sorted out as we can have a Chip, Dale, Alvin etc...
  4. There's a nice little Pathe film clip on YouTube of one being used on the Leek & Manifold Light Railway in the 1930s.
  5. It would be even better if Bachmann produced a transporter wagon that would allow you to do it the other way around!
  6. Although the number of newly announced items is disappointing, I suspect it's because Bachmann are aware that a lot of items that they announced 18 months ago are still at least six months away from being released, so they are attempting to catch up.
  7. Indeed, as to build the complete Power Station it is going to cost close to £300! I don't doubt that it will be impressive to look at, but I bet you could get a professional model maker to build one at that price.
  8. There's a few minutes on Steam Through The Peaks Vol. 54.
  9. Wow, for me those track plans highlight just how many sidings have been removed over the years, as I photographed the remains of the Wallerscote sidings last year and it's all just wasteland now.
  10. Getting something wrong on a model of an obscure 1940s prototype is understandable, but making a mistake that could have been spotted with a sixty second search on Google is just incompetence.
  11. They don't even need an expert, just someone who can look at a photograph and knows how to play spot the difference.
  12. There was Chadderton Coal Depot just North of Manchester. I don't know what it was like in the 70s, but these 80s pictures in the links should give you an idea of a typical facility. http://www.chaddy-goods.co.uk/ http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/62261-chadderton-ccd/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/actonwellsjunction/6041365513/
  13. Yeah, that was the first thing that struck me when my set arrived. If you look at photos the Intercity wording should be just under the grey window band not halfway down the blue band! After the recent balls up with the loco hauled Executive liveried versions I am beginning to wonder if anyone at Dapol actually checks the liveries of the MK3s?
  14. I was thinking about buying a set, but wasn't aware that they had been cancelled! I guess I'll have to buy the standard loco hauled versions then.
  15. Aren't C&M Models also commissioning a set of Blue grey coaches suitable for a push pull set though?
  16. It looks like they've both been in the spray booth.
  17. Sadly not as I visited the site about 18 months ago....
  18. How about PCV and Super GUV parcel vans so that my D***l Class 67 has something appropriate to pull!
  19. There was a layout based on Carstairs in that period featured in Railway Modeller in the 80s which may be of use, but I don't know exactly which issue it was in.
  20. Indeed and there's a very good article about it in the latest issue of Rail Express. Personally I think that this project is more worthwhile than yet another Deltic, 50 etc being preserved.
  21. As they have very little competition when it comes to high quality RTR trackwork in the UK, I guess they can afford to be conservative.
  22. Interesting, I didn't even know that they were planning to introduce O gauge Setrack! These should be a boon for those O gauge newbies who are planning to buy the forthcoming RTR models by Dapol and Heljan.
  23. As Dapol have already produced an 00 version of the Pendolino, I should Imagine that they were well aware of the amount of tooling required for it.
