  1. Perhaps Kit would be willing to be be 3D scanned?
  2. Nice. It brings back memories of the Hornby version which I received as a Christmas present many years ago.
  3. Indeed. What's the opposite of buyers remorse?
  4. They just represent the hoppers that were fitted with the low track force bogies.
  5. No smoke stains on the bodysides...
  6. Perhaps they could build a Channel Tunnel style system as a compromise between a road or a rail tunnel so that it would increase rail traffic capacity across the Pennines while also putting road vehicles onto 'piggyback' carriages to speed up road journeys.
  7. In light of recent Bachmann innovations are Rapido going to have the option of 4mm Scale BR Engineers in flares and kipper ties fitted inside it?
  8. Are the sidings a relatively modern addition as I've noticed that they aren't shown on older maps.
  9. As I'm waiting for a MK2f DBSO to complete my Scotrail Push pull train it's disappointing that they have only progressed one stage in twelve months especially as it's now three years since they announced them!
  10. I've always wondered why Bachmann have never shrunk their 00 gauge version?
  11. In a bullion van with a Police escort no doubt.
  12. Even the 153 was just a retool of the Dapol 156 that they inherited.
  13. It sounds like your avatar should be a goldfish not a mole!
  14. Didn't some ex-LMS sleepers make it into blue grey and some of the ex-LMS 50ft BGs definitely did. You could also include some of the Pullman stock although I'm not sure if it was just the Brighton Belle
  15. But what struck me is what do you do when you want put your train set away? If you don't have a box to put the items back into then they could end up being damaged.
  16. Well that's not strictly true as they did actually launch them, although whether they were a big success is another matter. http://www.corgi.co.uk/news/Hornby-launch-popular-pre-school-olly-the-little-white-van-toy-products/
  17. Are those drawings meant to be giving us a clue as to which types they will be producing with the different window sizes?
  18. That's an unexpected announcement! The only question is which livery variations do they start with as there have been so many over the years. Perhaps this is where some of those companies who like to commission special editions can step in with commissions for the some of the more obscure liveries such as on the Pullmans or the Scotrail Push Pull coaches.
  19. I just thought I'd give a heads up that Rails of Sheffield are selling the Bachmann Green & Cream Mk2 coaches from the Highlander set separately if anyone is after some. https://railsofsheffield.com/Bachmann-oo-pair-of-mk2-green-cream-passenger-coaches-30-048-coaches-Bachmann-JJJA27103.aspx

    Dapol 08

When 25kV AC overhead electrification started according to this. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=29053 Although it does raise the question of what about the 08 shunters in use on the 750v DC Manchester to Sheffield line in the 50s?
  21. I thought that this was the room for arguments?
  22. It looks like a new version of the chain drive model in Manchester Ship Canal livery is being released! I don't even model in 00 gauge these days, but I'll still be buying one, although it's a shame that's it not the later livery version as featured on DH23&24. http://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/shop/new-for-2016/locomotives-train-packs/sentinel-dh16-4dh-msc.html https://www.flickr.com/photos/69947186@N08/6478095187/
  23. Is that a model or is it the Real thing? *ahem*
  24. There is still a regular container ship (currently Thea 2) which runs between Liverpool and Irlam Container Terminal a few times a week and the occasional cement delivery to Weaste, plus the dredgers, one of which I managed to photograph on Sunday when it was turning around at Latcham Locks. (apologies for going slightly OT at this point)
  25. That's what I find bizarre about so many of these livery errors from all of the manufacturers, because if they had given the model to a child and got them to play spot the difference with a photograph of the prototype, then most if not all of these errors would have been noticed. Yet it seems that professional model manufacturers still seem to struggle with this issue.
