  1. Travelling to that good old British sugar company Tate & Lyle, or so it seems. Which looks half derelict on Google Earth: https://goo.gl/maps/ZU5u9TUG2Bn Keith
  2. Hadn't noticed. I was going by the poster's language and the links which are from India. Keith
  3. How far is too far? Mine is 75 feet away from the house with a dedicated PC networked using home plugs. With my fibre broadband I still get 40+ megabits download speed. Keith
  4. Haven't you forgotten "Bath Tubs" but that's along time ago. Keith
  5. It does say on the Via Rail Wiki pages that they are using some Renaissance stock on that route and it will be retired when the new Siemens kit arrives. Keith
  6. There has been a lot of Scenecraft for several weeks, must be having a clear out. Keith
  7. I was there at 1PM exactly There may have been more put out. Did you notice the three Liliput Steam Locos? all with largish mark downs. Two tender locos and a pretty little 0-8-0T which would make a good freelance industrial. (£60 IIRC) (I forgot to record those) Keith

  9. Via Rail were also criticised for wasting tax payer's money on unsuitable rolling stock that needed a small fortune to make them usable! However they were the first "new" stock that they had had for 20 years. Looks like their time is running out as new trains are on order. Keith
  10. IMHO the upgrade from V8 to V9 was somewhat underwhelming. It did offer some useful upgrades but did not seem as much of an advance as from V7 to V8. I'm unlikely to upgrade any further unless some earth shattering additions are part of the package. I made a suggestion to the Forum wishlist ages ago to add support for multi-track traversers & sector plates (As at Birmingham Moor Street & Snow Hill) but nothing ever happened, I was expecting it to be included in V9 when extra support for such things as sector plates was announced - but no. A trick missed. Keith
  11. Did anybody realise the coaches on the train MP was using are the ex-Nightstar coaches sold to the Canadians? Keith
  12. Hi Iain The advantage of the dongle is that someone might have a home layout, exhibition layout also working on something at a club. Only the dongle needs to move, it can be used on any PC Using other methods would require three licences, surely? (unless the PC is moved to each layout!) Cheers Keith
  13. Complete with buffers and couplings. I think it may be in Bangalore (Bengalaru) or somewhere else in Karnataka, If so AFAIK they don't have any tram systems. Keith
  14. Talgo type trains have been operating for many years without a problem (1968-) See this demo: Keith The Variable gauge trains are relatively modern but Talgo axle-less trains have been around for a long time. They were originally designed for their light weight.
  15. See here: http://parquemineroderiotinto.es/ Keith 11 Euros for a steam train ride doesn't seem a bad price. Here is the Garratt that you could see in the background: https://goo.gl/maps/LHktvWGNGiv
  16. Hordes of Gold Finches in their regular stop-over chat room (top of next door's ash tree) this afternoon. Four of them here: (30x zoom hand held compact) Keith
  17. Depends if you are hauling on the level or up a gradient. On the level more than nine coaches is no problem but it is challenged on the gradient as I mentioned earlier Keith
  18. I wonder whether there might be room for some extra ballast in the boiler area? It is IMHO not as heavy as it should be based on the overall bulk. I shall have to investigate further. Keith
  19. It wasn't very clear that what he was describing was any different from what had gone before. Unfortunately his sometimes over jocular presentation doesn't help. Keith
  20. Rather a lot of protection for a tram line? This sort of thing suffices in the UK: https://goo.gl/maps/bRcQUKcxkaU2 Keith
  21. Good one on Spain. Nice variety of trains on offer and you can see how Spain has changed from importing TGVs for it's first AVE services to building it's own Talgo trains to use. Fair bit of history as well. Keith
  22. I thought it was something Noel Edmonds thought up. Condiments or no Condiments. Dill.......... Keith
  23. Stop. You'll get me going on the Daily Wail and it's shifty proprietor. Kwith
  24. That's a new one on me. I always thought he was an outspoken supporter of company owned & operated premises and made a big song and a dance about it some years ago during one of his other politcal/economic crusades. Mind you he has somersaulted before on "red-line" policies. Convinced that the Euro was a failure he stated that JDW would never accept payment in Euros. That changed when he realised Europeans would willingly pay in Euros in London and other touristy hotspots and go elsewhere if they couldn't. He was dead against a smoking ban and said it would be bad for business, but he changed his mind and was one of the first pub chains to introduce a ban before the actual deadline (sales went up). Keith
  25. Too many visits to 'Spoons by the look of it! Keith
