You’ve taken part of what I’ve said, and deemed it a silly outburst?!? I wasn’t aware I’d said anything wrong… my apologies if I’ve said something out of turn. -

Oh come on, you are clearly splitting hairs!!! EM2 type is clear, otherwise EM "type" would have been stated - subtle difference. I appreciated Fran's reply so lets leave it at that. -

Understood, thanks for the clarification @Accurascale Fran Can i just check, do the finished production models have metal helical gears? -

You are correct - however this wasn't my point..... -

So - previously advertised throughout all promotions as an EM2 speaker - but now the models have arrived and a query has been raised, you've "changed" the spec to confirm it's the less powerful, cheaper EM1.... Not impressed! -
No problem at all - it kept me busy for hours!!! I changed CV67 - 94 via my DCC control, which is an Elite. I actually stumbled upon them via reading the manual - which is very comprehensive and actually details all of this very well. I'd suggest reading it - and probably allowing a good few days as it's well over 100 pages!!! :) I feel i've only just scratched the service with the decoders full DCC capability - there are no many more advanced features, which completely trumps any previous Hornby decoder!!!

Yes - R3096 William Shakespeare Not that i've noticed and i've used both modes. It's basically a fully functioning DCC decoder - with a Bluetooth module slapped on.

Hi, So first i obviously enabled the complex speed curve by adding a value of 16 to CV29. I spent a lot of time one evening continuously adjusting the speed curve CV's shown below. You may wish to tweak them further, but they will probably give you a good starting point. I found these values good for a Britannia class: The only down side to changing the CV's to the values above, was the top speed of the loco is reduced. It isn't an issue for me as i run an end to end layout but again further tweaking maybe required to suit your specific requirements. I hope the above helps.......

Yes you can - but you'll have no way of updating the sound profile as this can only be done using the app.

I'd suggest purchasing one to see how you find it. I was suitably impressed by the decoder functionality and audio quality over the older TTS decoder. This HM7000 decoder is a completely different animal and probably has 95% of everyday useable functionality that an ESU contains. I mainly used to purchase ESU decoders as my go to - but given what i need around the CV's and decoder functionality is contained in this updated decoder, i'm seriously considering changing to them.....

Interesting point you made about altering the chuff rate to match the wheel rotation. I've been playing around a lot with the complex speed curve CV's with it enabled via CV29 and actually got very good visible results. I actually tuned it to equal 4 beats per revolution until i time when the wheels were rotating faster than i could count...... It's a half way house - but then, we are talking about something that is STILL considerably cheaper than ESU or Zimo.....
-
I'd be interested, have you actually conducted an audio test on the Soundtraxx Blunami, ESU and Zimo compared with the HM7000 decoder, or are folk just reading from a spec sheet? I've got various Zimo, ESU and now HM7000 decoders fitted, and with the correct speaker, the different in audio quality cannot be detected by the human ear......or at least my ears and my hearing is good. In my opinion, for what you now get with the HM7000 decoder in terms of functionality, control and audio quality - i cannot justify the additional cost of a Zimo or ESU given what they offer over HM7000 only appeal to probably less than 5% of those that buy them.....

OO or TT range.......

That happens to....... Happened to me when trying to pre-order a Dublo SNG. There are known problems in the far east in terms of production and numbers as we all know - so could also be down to that. Other manufacturers are also experiencing the same! -Or they over allocated which is also a possibility.....
