  1. Just finished the brake gear on a High Level 57xx chassis. Beautifully designed and etched as you would expect from High Level but My God, it was fiddly! I need much smaller fingers.

Forget the smaller fingers, move up to 7mm......

Doing that in 7mm Narrow Gauge. There's just more smaller details to add and they're just as fiddly.

You should have heard me when I was test building it for HL, a few small mods were made to make it easier for you.

  2. Unfortunately, the Ixion didn't arrive today (still, there's always tomorrow) but Skyfall was brilliant and the meal delicious, so two out of three ain't bad. I enter my 65th year a contented bunny.

Many happy returns Arthur; I enjoyed Skyfall too.

  3. Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to ...etc. Just waiting for the Postie who, hopefully, has my Ixion Coffee Pot on board before Mrs B. and I go to see Skyfall this afternoon and then on for a meal. We wrinklies sure do know how to live it up!

      Have a great Birthday :)

If the Ixion has arrived - it's a great start anyway!

  4. Just back from a superb Missenden Abbey Summer Modelling School. Excellent tutors (Bob Alderman, Tim Shackleton and Chris Langdon), good company, comfortable rooms and great food. 5 days of nothing but railway modelling plus a private visit to Pendon as well. A great time was had by all.

You lucky bu***r. I bet that's a great way to spend a 'working week', especially the Shackleton weathering/mods bit.

  5. Just off to play trains all day at Narrow Gauge South; hope to see some of you there.

  6. Has booked a place on the Missenden Abbey Modellers Summer Retreat in August. Only six and a half months to wait!

  7. Has just been advised his PSA is now down to 0.6 following radiotherapy which hopefully means that the Big C is now just a small c and getting smaller everyday!
