  1. Thanks Andy - good advice I've just looked at the LittleLoco web site but don't see any way to pay so I'v sent an email.
  2. PS My order was #558 so he's probably got a lot of emails to send and process card payments for. Norman
  3. Andy That's good to know. I have not yet received an email from Steve but I'm a lot happier knowing he's sending them out and I'll be patiently waiting. Happy days Norman
  4. I hope so too but would have thought Steve would announce on here if they have arrived it the UK. Norman

Hello Dave Thanks for your reply and your apology accepted of course. I'm looking forward to both the J94 and baby Deltic and wish you well for the future. However, it would be good if you could give some idea of timescales so that we can all plan our spending. Pocket money is burning a hole and I would hope for some goodies in 2017. Norman

Hi Porcy Yes it is of real interest to me - that's why I have posted the question about O gauge and I thought the "Ask Dave" forum was the best place to ask the question, especially as Dave has promised to reply within 48 hours. You don't get commitments like that from many. Norman

Yes, remove the rods and paint off the loco. They are held on by screws. I don't know what they have used to lock the threads but the heat from a soldering iron loosens it sufficiently. Norman

Hello Porcy Strange but I have not noticed any updates from Dave on O gauge but if he has please point me to it, I am very interested in this element of Dave's projected programme.. With thanks in advance. Norman

I note that in Dave Jones end of year report 2016 there is no mention of O gauge. We can only hope that in the upcoming 2017 programme that there may be some opportunity to progress the Austerity and/or baby Deltic. As time marches on they seems to be only a remote chance. It is necessary to ask again if progress is not possible, will the planned foray into O gauge be delivered or not? Norman PS I wonder too what happened to the 48 hours response promised in post #1?
  10. Steve That's really good news and hopefully they are being truthful this time. Lets also hope there are no further problems. Happy new year with a nice pressie Norman
  11. Hi Keith The router needs to be configured as a stand alone device. I should say I'm no expert and needed help from a computer wiz at the club. and unfortunately not all modems are created equal, some like the spare ones I had at home were hardware configured to work with a PC (EE and BT) and could not be used. But my friend bought one on ebay for £10 which he was able to use independently so that a device which in my case is a samsung mobile running an app called Rocrail RC-cab communicates with the DR5000 via the modem. Norman
  12. Hi Keith Yes connected it to a spare router and it works great using Rocrail RC-cab Norman

As in Manchester Ship Canal? wouldn't it just sink? LOL

Shunting lights work OK on DCC but will need a rewire to get them to work on analogue DC. Norman

Green stripey ones have arrived - hooray Norman
  17. Well they should be off the end of the production line by now or pretty near so hopefully my little loco will make a very good, albeit, belated Christmas present/new year's gift. Here's hoping. Let's also hope that there's no last minute gremlins. What do the Chinese do at Christmas if it's not filling our stocking. LOL Just checked and the Chinese new year starts on 28th January 2017 so they should be pulluing out all the stops about now!!! please Norman

    Ask Dave

This forum topic is called "Ask Dave" and if you look back at the first post that Dave created it is in very plain language. He wants users to ask questions - in fact he says he will reply in 48 hours. But perhaps he is unwell or on holiday. Norman

    Ask Dave

I think my comments are being misunderstood and all I have asked is has there been any progress and what is the expected date for release. I think that's entirely reasonable and can't understand why Dave would not want to keep potential customers informed. Norman

    Ask Dave

Well Roy When a new model is announced it is sensible to expect some idea of the time frame and now after many months there is no indication of progress. Comparing railway modelling with the auto industry is rather strange especially when you consider that timing of new car models is carefully controlled and rather quite precise. Having worked in the auto industry for quite a few years time to market is an almost god like discipline. Norman

I am referring to the O gauge versions and I have not seen any progress to date so I was just wondering whether there is a time frame for production or will these two projects remain parked for a long time maybe. In which case it would be useful if some one else were to take them on and bring them to fruition. Norman

Hello Dave I have noticed that Hattons are listing both a baby Deltic and a J94 in 0 gauge from DJ Models and wonder if there's any indication of when they may be produced? Maybe one of the new boys on the block would wish to take these over or even perhaps Heljan or Bachmann? Norman

Impressive, it must take a full 10 minutes to install a decoder and speaker. I wonder why there has been such a long delay. I suppose it will just go to prove that modellers can be really patient LOL Norman

    Dapol 08

Hi I have suggested that he phone Dapol but he does not want to go to the hassle of sending it back for what is or should be a fairly trivial problem. As for posting a photo - I saw it tonight there's not much to see really, a loose buffer head which is metal and the buffer housing, inside the housing there appears to be a shaft which moves but does not drop out. It could be that this shaft has a screw thread which screws into the buffer head but in any event the spring appears to be missing. An exploded diagram would be useful here. Norman

Does anyone know of an exploded view being published. I'm particularly interested in how the buffer head is attached. A frien had his delivered with one buffer head loose in the box. Tower suggested he glue it back on but that is not a good solution. Norman
