A big 👍 from me to everyone involved.

A show with great quality, a good feel and so many visitors had nothing but praise. I only managed to flit around less than half of the layouts so apologies to any I missed. Eventually I got to Tackeroo with @Wagon Matt   @wagonbasher and had some token sessions on the controller in between gassing.

I hung up the work hat and just enjoyed a good play. Back to old days and I loved it. The layout came into its own talking to local folk and those who read about the project on here about the locations and features which was really enjoyable. I was hoarse by the time I got back.

What a miserly, ungenerous and skin-flint attitude he does exhibit.

He should seek to be buying lots and lots of panniers, not just a few...

    Reason 493 why I don't like Panniers...

This dastardly example, and it would be 4666 the Devil's pannier wouldn't it, is hiding the building that I want a clear shot of.

Finally got a copy of the new "From the Camel to the Exe" book. Some cracking photos in it, excluding the one above for obvious reasons. My only slight niggle is that I found myself disagreeing with some of the captions... Going to do some checking when I get home.

I spent way too much time watching a bloke shunt 3 wagons today, but I did travel for over an hour to see a wagon deposited in the kickback siding and I wasn't leaving until I saw one.

I just hope you understand the complicated wiring and switches for this layout when you are operating it tomorrow - was it up for arrivals, running round and down for the sidings or the other way round?

What was lovely was the number of random individuals who would lean in to Rob in a David Dickinson style, give him a thumbs up and say what a great layout it was.

Never finished his cup of tea though did he?

An excellent show as ever, great selection of layouts and traders.

Good to see some familiar, and not so familiar, faces and trade insults and repartee.

My only complaint, the timing of the last bus to the station, which set off without so much as a check on stragglers as I was within 20 yards of it, coincidentally just as Colin was announcing it's imminent departure and the closure of the show with his two minute warning. I would have (of😁) thought 5/10 minutes past closing time was a more sensible departure time, although I fully realise it's a voluntary service and they want to get home asap.

    Mike.

I told them to make a quick getaway Mike and warned them you were enroute.

I have no idea how big the GEC hall was (and I have no idea where it was, either!). But the total available space at the Bingley Hall, including the annexes, is 8,170 sq m, compared with a total of 3,531 sq m in the combined Prestwood, Argyle and Sandylands Halls. So it's more than twice as big as the space previously available.

That's from the venue hire section of the Stafford County Showground website. Which is, amusingly, still using a photo of the Stafford model railway show to illustrate the Prestwood, Argyle and Sandylands page. Can anyone identify the layout?

Not much to go on for the old Stychfields Hall, just a handful of photos from the web, but the hall was probably smaller than the side room at the current show...

Would be interesting to know how the floor area of the current show compares with the old show at the GEC hall. Got to be getting on to be 8x the size?
