So he's on track, but with fewer marbles. Ok but what about the fence. Asking for a friend that's all.
Confusing isn't it?

Please Sir what was it you said about fences. Its just with all the things happening I seem to have lost track.
No, he's not lost any track. Marbles yes, track no.

Why is the T3's tender flare not green?
Have looked and asked around and the answer seems to be - because it was brown/red...

Was it just me looking for a fence on the layout? Oh, then I remembered the real fence in the real garden. Carry on.

IIRC, 6695 was severely damaged when it was dislodged from a low-loader a few years back, either en-route to or returning from a visit to another railway.
Last I heard was that it had been sent to the West Somerset Railway for assessment and repairs. Unless anyone knows better, I think that may still be ongoing.
John
Looks like it moved on from the WSR after their 'difficulties'... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.railadvent.co.uk/2019/12/steam-locomotive-6695-set-for-move-to-swindon-cricklade-railway.html/amp

No sign of 6695 at Swanage today, not even sure if it still lives here.
On view in the station was this beauty, the LSWR T3. Looking absolutely resplendent. I remember the vitriol on the various forums when it was gifted as surplus (iirc) by the NRM to the Swanage Railway. Just shows what can be achieved:
There was a certain grace to these and other similar locos.
The T9 was on shed with no chimney and the U was in light steam in a siding. Main loco running was 34028 Eddystone.

Is there no end to the lengths you will go to, to disrespect the GWR?
192 miles. Going through Oxford and Didcot on the return leg.
Here's something to cheer you up:

Yes I remember that and wearing a mask at the show. Today I'm not driving and letting Avanti West Coast take me, wish me luck.
How long should we wait before sending out search parties?

I’ll be at GETS on Sunday and will try and get some shots of the Kernow railmotor production samples courtesy of @Graham_Muz
Enjoy GETS tomorrow Rob, think I last went in 2020 just as the COVID restrictions were lifting prior to being put back on for Christmas. Failing that it was 2021. Who knows?
Anyway I do know I went through Swindon today. Still feeling quite ill but I'm hoping seeing the LSWR T3 running tomorrow at Swanage will sort that out.
Popped in to the tank museum today on the way down. Saw this. Is there no end to the all invading FS merchandising?:
Looks suitable for ramming coaches...

A belated massive thank you to Richard. From some very dodgy sketches and photos he's knocked up some fantastic ornate, but very common, chimney pots for me. They have been printed in 7mm for my buildings for Pencarrow, but I suspect they will be added to his range and in a variety of scales.
Really impressed with how they look but I'll leave the 'official' photos to Richard.

I have to say I find your lack of regard for FS rather childish. Whatever your personal views it IS historically important, a last survivor of a great class as well as one of far too few surviving LNER designs.
Well that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I personally find Flying Scotsman's image plastered on anything and everything, plus the media's obsession with it a tad tedious.

Having in the past seen results from collisions a lot softer than the Scotsman incident, I would think it likely that there has been some pretty bad damage to the tender & quite possibly the loco as well, to say nothing for the carriages.
The pictures below seem to be circulating widely on social media. Hope they can repair the coach, and that there were some unbroken bottles, not bothered by FS.

@2ManySpams has some previous experience of this subject.
Yes, I've used a Multitool and a grinder with cutting disc to chop up and modify a pair of Kernow clay dries. Did the cutting outside with decent mask and eye protection. Also used my garage vacuum cleaner to extract dust as cutting.

Grief, I'd forgotten that; so it was. We thought they were pretty smart at the time...I think?
Rob, you've either got to make a small cameo Layout for that Maroon beast OR, it was tried out (unsuccessfully due to weight) at the Royal Navy Stores Place, not far from Brent on the way to Plymuff, before being nabbed by the NCB! Or both!
Looks great matey; such memories need to be relived.
Phil
Yes, I think Rob should build a nice little SheepBloke style cameo for the new off-green loco.

@RapidoCorbs advised on the the thread that the factory has used https://www.phoenix-paints.co.uk/products/paint-products/precisionrailway/bigfour/lmsbigfour/14p39 as a sample to copy.
GWR by stealth in my opinion - a subtle takeover of other railways, one paint job at a time.

No photos this time, not much modelling done recently, quite a bit of time spent in the garden. However I have sorted the bogies for the toplight and given it a test run around the layout, I now need to find time to start the interior.
My wife and I went to the Stafford show on Sunday, what a great exhibition. A lot of layouts of interest and could have done with more time to go back to some of them, we arrived at 10 and left at 4. I did manage to part with some , well quite a bit of cash, and was very pleased to find a 4575 in BR livery, just what I need for my South Wales auto train.
Perhaps there would have been more time if we didn't spend so much time chatting, meeting several RMwebbers and some old friends. I must mention that it was a pleasure to chat to Rob @NHY 581 and Jay @JustinDean operating Bleat and also brief conversations with Chris @2ManySpams, Robin @gwrrob and Ian @Oldddudders, such meetings helped to make the day so enjoyable.
Brian

Great to meet up with Mr Sheepbloke @NHY 581 and Bleat Wharf where 1608 posed for a few shots.
Good show at Stafford and a bit of a RMweb hangout with @2ManySpams @Oldddudders @Old Gringo @AY Mod and many others all chatted too amongst some very nice stuff.
More anon.
I wanted to like the text on that post Robin, but then there's panniers at the bottom. Didn't want anyone getting the wrong idea.

It's ok, plenty of time, it's not as though the show is this weekend. No worries.
