Its coming along very nicely Dave, I was looking at the site on Friday evening from off the band coach whilst we were waiting for the jobsworths on the road closure to get a car who wanted to go into Delph out of the way, and although the road configuration has changed somewhat these days, and my memory was stretching it a bit, I think your little bit of remedial woodworking on the roadway has just got it right.

apologies there carl. I misread your first post about using N!!

Hi Carl
its the first time Ive seen this blog and i will be watching with interest to see how it develops. Victoria has always been one of those what if I won the lottery and had enough room layouts - only in EM to run the stock I have for New Hey!!
I see you are rewheeling the stock to 2mm fs - but keeping the track N. Are you not tempted to go the whole hog or is the time factor dictating the use of proprietary track?
And the other thing of course (well it would be from me wouldnt it) is do you intend exhibiting it

Hard work isnt it Graham - the floor plays havoc with your feet and legs over the weekend, its non stop - but at least behind the layout you are away from the crowds - and because of its size its the most impersonal of shows even though the warley members do try their best to help and converse with you (except the guy on the door when we took Spotland!!). Hotels can be a bit random as well, Ive operated at Warley many times and never been in the same hotel twice!
Still, im off there again with New Hey this time so we must enjoy it!

Sparthbottom PCD, sounds like one of our Gracie's songs...
Interesting you are going for P4 this time. I thought you were fed up with converting locos and stock to EM?
Larry
This time its all Diesels, which are an easier proposition in any scale! - plus Ive nowhere near the amount of stock to do, a 24 (already done) two 25s, a 40, 47 and an 08 to shunt the depot. Two dozen 12T vans, some VBAs and about 12 BGs / CCTs / GUVs . Plus 2 DMus and a little freight stock.
Andrew - the releases are done in the right hand fiddleyard - only half the station is being modelled and a 4 road depot - the four in the top left. The shed will come out about 9 inches, the rest of the depot is "off scene" - the four roads and road at the side of the shed will be permanent tracks in the fiddleyard - other stock being moved on cassettes.

For the curious, or those who also wish to follow suit and incur the wrath of the Rolling Riot, I actualy used a dog hair off our youngest border collie, Floyd.
Andrew - you will be able to pick up some supplies (of dog hairs) at Rochdale!!

The Commentator was honing his skill in front of New hey for a fair spell at railex, Mark also got a full commentary on Portchullin. Ive got to admit to sending the same train round a few times to see how he copes, but he's always well up to the task!
He's obviously a quite knowledgable bloke so I do wonder what his condition is never seen anyone like it before. End of the day he's a harmless soul and if attending shows keeps him happy, brilliant.
