Hi Mozzer
The Metro tank looks very good and from the spread of parts it looks like the kit can be assembled into various different versions, I'm just comparing it to my one I built
from the South Eastern Finecast kit, took me ages.
I always wandered how Dean Sidings modified the Hornby chassis, it looks like quite an advanced bit of hacksaw work, well done. Did you have to strip down the
chassis first to keep the cogs and wheels safe?
RH
This is the 4th Deans sidings kit i have built the others at the at most 3 cuts this had 9 but with the kit are drawings & info for the cuts to the chasise use 3 datums points
i strip the chassie then raped the cog left in the chassie to stop sworfe getting into it

Today i have been building a Dean Sidings kit for a GWR 2-4-0 Metro tank
heres what you get
1st job is to cut up the chassie so it fits the body
I finished cutting up the 14xx chassie block so that the moter sits the other way up & the chassie block will fit into the body
before lunch
I still have one or two bits to add to the body but thay will be done after i have painted the body
Well heres the pic of how she is now

Just placed an order with Colin. Good news if that the prices have not gone up with the VAT increase (though as its his first day of trading since the increase maybe he has not adjusted them yet).
Is there VAT on the Isle of Man is it not a Tax Haven

You've done a few of these, haven't you, Brian? They do make a nice looking coach. Are they resin sides?
Some are a one peace resin body/chassie plus resin seating & roof this one is
but some are white metal sides, ends, buffers & bufferbeam with a resin chassie, seating & roof with
the bogie , queen posts roof vent are white metal as well
i have one of each still to build & when i start them i will take a photo of them

It say some were built new but some were built in 1932 on old ex-GNR 4 wheel coach underframes of simmilar length
new builds were dia 120 but the rebuilds were dia 170/176/177

This listing seems rather good, but the photo worries me a little bit... yes the advertised product is in the photo, but it's in the back ground, and not the subject!
this sell all so is selling the LMS coaches in th photo

I know some one who say there good 7mm kit but i would not touch there 4mm kit as the brass is to thin & the slots & tab do not match up as its a 7mm kit made smaller
-
Very nice, but not powered? I presume not required as they power easily I did two of these, which are very reasonable castings etc, within the usual K's limits. To get haulage, use Mike Sharmans method, a floating rear axle, lightly loaded front axles and weight transfer from the tender to the driving axle centre., result it will haul about 6 coaches, the limit was the small Mashima more than traction.
Its to be a display model in spain so is & will not be powered this was a K's kit from the 80's as its been to the Falkland for a War in 1982 with the Man i have built it for
But saying that IKB still sell this loco & this is powered by the tender
