Morning all, still feeling full after yesterdays Christmas meal! Turkey sandwiches most likely today, with an abundance of puddings!
Have a great boxing day everyone

Morning all!, bright blue skies this morning and the sun seems to be poking through. Wishing you all a great Christmas, rest well!

When I was doing my Degree I found it useful when people had pencil marked certain passages of library books, saved me the trouble of finding quotes!
Ed
Certainly is very helpful when that happens Ed!...

Morning all, having frequented the forum for a quite a while- but nice to pop back!
Hope everyone has an enjoyable day, I'm starting reading for my dissertation...

Hopefully mine will not disappoint; originally a 47035 but it's had "a bit" of work and there's still quite a bit to do.
Looks fantastic Jon, great job!

Hi all
Been a long time since any updates on here but here is a special one for.
Deeping lane depot is featured in Augusts model rail.
I haven't seen the article yet as I let my subscription slip but sources say it looks pretty good.
I'm really pleased that it made a mag and looking back from my first mag feature layout pilot road to this one I can see how much I have changed and improved through time.
Can't wait to read it and I want to take the time to thank all the people who have commented and helped in the layout.
Thank you
Neil
Excellent news Neil, will make sure I pick up a copy for a read.

A very interesting weekend indeed, but by the end we had it cracked. Dual control seemed to work better because it enabled something to always be moving, even if one of us was chatting etc. Extension plans are exciting, I guess will have to wait and see. Looking forward to the next expo next month.
-
Great to chat to you yesterday Martin, look forward to more updates.

Absolutely superb Jon, great documentation and one I'm sure I will refer back to.
-
Enjoyed the exhibition last weekend, was great to chill out and chat. Looking forward to the additions that are going to be made with the static grass etc and the expo in April.

Looking forward to seeing DL in the flesh at Mansfield. Its looking the biz, I wish I only had tweeks to do!! I still have major building to get done (8 and a half weeks and counting!!! )
Chris some nice duffs would look good taking a cross pennine trip through Outon Road I think also!! Anyone with any AC EMU's would go down a treat too as I wont have chance to build one by then!!

I'm sure it can't be ruled out that there will be some weekend stock swapping taking place Cav!, have got a couple of 47's and 37/5's on the workbench at present.
-
I can only echo each of the comments previous, a fantastic layout with great scenics, operating interest and wide variety of stock. Looking forward to supporting you in the exhibition's this year Neil. Now I must get on with that 47...
-
Layout starting to look very good now Neil. 37s arrows are a major improvement.
Much agreed, the layout is coming along really well pal. Quite looking forward to bringing some stock over soon.
-
I feel it is always worthwhile to have a variety of stock, so that you can operate in different transitions and era's. On the other hand, focusing on one time frame can also have its advantages. Great layout, particularly like the container crane you are using.

Excellent work here Alex, your attention to detail and work so far is exciting to read. 091 happens to be my 'pet' 60 too, so top marks for that!.
-
Nice selection of shots mate, especially like the work on the PW Hut. NSE 47 doesn't look too bad either
-
Glad to hear you enjoyed Model Rail Live pal, Cav has completed a great job on those 47's. Layout is looking great too, hope to catch up soon!
-
Excellent progress Neil, the airbrush is definitely providing another element; looking good pal

Great start there Neil, I'm impressed. The roof looks subtle and effective and I like the dusting around the grill's. I'd be tempted to model the 'fiberglass' roof panel as demonstrated here by James Hilton - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12152&st=0&sk=t&sd=a#p222084. Well worth checking out.
Chris,

You need to let me get my hands on it with my weathering kit though first Chris! haha
Thanks Cav, I'm happy with it at the moment, although got a job for you- PM on the way!
Neil- Your getting addicted with these 37's, hoping for a 37/4 next
-
Finely crafted weathering there pal, studying prototype photo's is certainly a must! Looking forward to bringing over the 37 and posing it with the engineers rake..
-
It never ceases to amaze me, the rate of your progress Neil!. Have to say though, I'm very impressed and look forward to seeing it in the flesh so too speak!

Good morning to all, very breezy down this morning- but apparently its not to cold.
Have a few bits to sort out today and might even get some time for some modelling.
Wishing everybody a great day.
