Really nice progress Will, particularly the ballasting. What ballast have you used?

Morning all,
Many happy returns to the Stationmaster!
Yesterday was enjoyable, a trip down to Eastcroft depot in Nottingham to look over 158 and 153 units (a rare breed now) as part of my new role with EMR. Today we're back again for 156 traction. There is plenty to learn, but I'm having a great time.
Cloudy and overcast here in Lincolnshire this morning, looking forward to the return of the warmer weather that is expected this weekend.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.
Chris

Morning all,
I haven't been round these ways for while, however it's good to be able to check in.
Sunny and warm here in Branston, Lincs - looking forward to the day ahead. I'm training to be a guard with EMR having come from a platform based role at Lincoln - we're heading down to Eastcroft depot today so that should be interesting.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.
Chris

The error in colour is what it is, if you're that bothered about it - get it resprayed.
I'm really happy with how well these have come out - top marks to Hattons for getting them delivered before Christmas.
Looking forward to receiving my 66789 over the next couple of days.

Has anybody received there's yet?

I’m not overly enamoured with either manufacturer at present. Bachmann have not been far off becoming the Nokia of the model world. Playing last minute catch up with the 66 and now announcing all these when , strangely, Heljan announce a new one despite being asked for them for ages....
As for Heljan, I’m hoping they’ve turned a leaf with Bens input , as in my mind they didn’t listen to criticism, and produced some pretty mediocre stuff in shape, and in the case of the 47 , not particularly good runners.
i think I’ll let others buy and comment first before I commit to either version.
I have to disagree with the comment regarding the Heljan 47 running capabilities - I've had several now and they've all been fine.

Lovely work here Lewis. Keep us posted with further updates. Interested to know how you did the road over bridge?

Interesting that the LLB and Biffa 66 don't seem to feature on the list. I would of thought that Bachmann may have tried to get it to market before the Hattons counterpart is released.

A small update from the weekend - managed to purchase a couple of buildings at the LDMRC exhibition in Newark. One is a disused signal box and the other is a Lineside AWS hut. I also had a small issue with one of the points, which I've had to rectify but everything seems fine now. I've received the backscene in the post and will get that up soon.

Just buy the current model and detail it to get it up to today's standards. With a bit of weathering it certainly looks as good as this new release.

was that blue tack on the points blades before spraying? (if so good idea)
Yes it was, definitely helps in not clogging up the point blades!

I've made a start on a new project, having sold on my previous layout Lynchwood Sidings.
Working in roughly the same space (6ft x 1ft scenic / 3ft fiddle yard), I'm aiming to model a wagon repair depot similar to what can be found at Tees Yard. It will not be an exact representation due to space constraints.
Track work will be Peco Code 100 mingled with a Code 75 double slip to give greater operational flexibility. Baseboards are by Tim Horn.
Work is progressing well, I'm building the structures first and then laying the track, rather than the other way round, having learnt the hard way previously that this doesnt always work out.
I'm currently building the Railway Laser Lines Wagon Repair Depot and would hope to have this finished by the end of the week.
The layout will be DCC controlled using the Gaugemaster Prodigy Express System.
