  1. Just for you I took a photo of one of the cyclone rods complete with tennis ball. I can post it when the site lets me.
  2. Threaded rods work well with old tennis balls. I have them on all the cyclone rods that poke down through the house frame under the house.
  3. A truly spectacular way to start a post!!!!
  4. I'm amazed that you can't see the great big gobs of PVA you used. The result shows that you don't need to over-think scenery - just do it and if the result is not quite right, go over it again. Lovely work.
  5. I know about the tracks being on a platform that can be lowered for maintenance etc but how are you going to lift and gently place in position the roof when it is completed? From memory this roof is around two metres long? I think I need to go back to about page two to see how you made your styrene cutter - doing it all yourself must be a much more rewarding exercise when everything starts to come together as well as this build.
  6. Really nice. Must be nice to have a personal laser! Here is some inspiration - http://www.buntbahn.de/modellbau/viewtopic.php?t=6691&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=330
  7. Cobbles or setts - http://www.finescalerr.com/smf/index.php?topic=1983.msg37792#msg37792 http://monstermodelworks.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=24 Generate your own brick sheets - http://paperbrick.co.uk/index.php?action=home Castellated chimney pots - http://www.freestonemodel.co.uk/page14.htm
  8. A small point - I like the car repair but the scrap to me doesn't look like car scrap. Some of it looks heavy enough to need a forklift to shift it. Perhaps old oil drums, tyres, wheels, etc? Bent up old car doors as well?
  9. I know one of my favourite sayings is magic on a stick but this layout is magic on a postage stamp!!!! I never realised it was '-t-h-a-t-' small... OK leave the rude replies out of it!
  10. Have you tried using fine ballast as gravel? Another thought is to use grout mixed with sand and coloured to represent tar seal?
  11. Just an update really - isn't it amazing that this new update features the railway only in the first four or so photos? The rest of the modelling just kept getting better and better!!!!!
  12. Just hitting the 'like' button isn't enough for this masterpiece! Please keep posting.
  13. Dunno about the pond or stream. I think it looks good as is. Each successive layout you build gets to look more decrepit, run down, overgrown and generally used. Wonderful!!!!
  14. So this is not a Led Zeppelin tribute layout then?
  15. My KB Scale Deutz is still in its box for the same reasons as Sir Madog states. I don't think I have the skills to do justice to the etch, let alone paint it properly (I don't own an airbrush etc). I guess if you stuff up a building though, it can be rescued with another coat of paint but stuff up a loco and you have to clean it off before you can start all over again.
  16. Pretty damn sharp modelling there!
  17. Taaa - daaa! Excuse my nonsense, I have just done a 14 hour day rebuilding my website!

Moving people - 1:48 scale mostly - http://www.youtube.com/user/scoopmmr?feature=watch 1:64 scale blacksmith - 1:48 scale children waving - 1:48 scale blacksmith - Enjoy. Laurie lives just up the road from me.
  19. A Mince Pie Open Weekend... boy you have some fun - even in the cold!!!! I'm currently sitting here with the fan blowing on me because it's so hot!!!!
  20. A floor before Christmas? in Spain? Hmmmm... Can we make a wager on this happening?
  21. You're probably not interested in these at $39.95 each then - http://ringengineering.com/EotDevice.htm
  22. Now what would be really cool is if this technology could be used to recreate miniature copies of ourselves as participants on this railway! http://www.omote3d.com/
  23. And I see someone has been kind enough to leave a nice chewy golf bag to play with as well! Maybe a post in the middle with a lead so walkies is sorted as well?
