I'll pop along for a chat sometime. I promise not to lobby for 032 as built too much 😉

I'll just barrow my demo in from the East Car Park as usual. I can't see me ever having to use the Voyage system (thankfully)

Everyone speaks of mess, you have no idea. Many years ago at the old house my wife sanded the walls in the lounge one day when I was out at work, it looked like a nuclear winter when I got home, EVERYTHING was covered in a thick white/grey layer of dust. Took days to clear up.

That’s very odd as I almost exclusively use 8 pin, I have 1 21 pin in my home brew DP1, all work well.

Why do RB (and AM) have to attend?
Because one of their cars also repeatedly breached track limits at turn 6.
Of course it's now been swept under the carpet by the FIA, no retrospective penalties. I wonder why? ........

QuoteThe hearing was due to take place on Wednesday, but has been delayed to give the stewards time to "independently consider the submissions made".
More likely to give RB time to come up with a suitable bung ......

I don't expect for a second that should Max be leading Checo he will let him pass though. Still, I can't see George doing that for Hamilton either. As we have said, they are racers.

Looks like, due to an admin error (possibly mine) I will not be attending the show (no accommodation booked). A shame and I just hope all the other admin required to get the show to be successful goes more smoothly.

Oh no, hope something can be sorted Barry, you can Kip on my floor at the Crowne Plaza, only stopping Saturday night though……..

You have to use the HM7000 Power Bank plugged into the on board socket on the decoder

The dongles are being extensively tested by the development and test teams and as has been said that while they are working well (even tested in an exhibition environment) there are a couple of small glitches and suggested improvements that are being fettled.
Maybe my last post ended up being put up using the Special Invisible Ink that can be quite prevalent on here so I'm told 😉

thank you for the info, is it easy to save a set of functions or is it bit messing about till you get used to it?
Export Function Map under Locomotive Settings 😉

correct me if im wrong please
when i get the dongle and set the app up, will i then have to put F0 lights F1 engine F3 horn etc, in my self or will they just work when i press F1 on my tablet / phone?
At the moment you have to set up the functions manually. What I have done is save a default set of functions and then import the profile for each loco added to the dongle. It's then easier to edit anything that is decoder specific.

Did it work OK?
Is there an update as to the possible release date please?
Yes and no, there's one issue that has already been fixed in the app, but the development version is only on apple and I had my Xperia with me. Apart from that it worked really well, allowed me to control my plain vanilla dcc locos as well as the HM7000 equipped pug.
As a result of my testing there are a couple of app improvements that have been suggested too.
No firm date on the release of the dongle yet though. Not much longer so we have been told

Paul's stopped doing sound projects? That'll be a big loss for Zimo fans.
Indeed

Paul's moved one to other things sadly for us

I saw earlier in another thread that braking is on F27.
My system is a Powercab so I can't change my functions & I've just seen your comment about function mapping on the Turbomotive thread 😒
Yes, it's a pain.

F27 - TXS supports dynamic brake? That's interesting.
Can you re-map functions with this? Surely it would be better to shove it on the same function as the braking sound & allow it to be varied by CV. Is that a little too much to ask from what is still a much cheaper decoder than a Zimo or ESU?
oh for function mapping 😉 I think they are fed up of me raising this on the beta test chat 🤣

Handy to know.
There is a lot which analogue chips won't do that DCC will: proper coasting, controllable acceleration/deceleration/braking, consisting. TXS will not do the lot & that is what keeps the cost lower than an ESU or Zimo.
Indeed Pete. Coasting is possible though by setting the deceleration momentum to a very high value and then using the brake key (F27) to stop the loco when you want. It's not ideal if you are operating in DCC mode on say a Powercab as at least 3 button presses are needed to activate F27 .... If you have a more modern DCC system that allows for button reconfiguration then it's less of a problem

Good results Mike, especially as your attendance was probably diluted by another show in our area on the same weekend 🙂
