  1. I'm sure the in-laws would be happy to be able to teach Charlie how to do something useful like that, Debs!
  2. Isn't it funny that while us humans will usually sit down and put our feet up after nightfall, Albert and Trude are turning almost hyperactive tonight? Trude in particular has been racing back and forth around the living room and is now having a snack! Meanwhile, Albert gave the impression of considering jumping on the sofa I'm sitting on right now for a moment. I wouldn't mind if the two of them did, as long as they stayed away from the laptop power cord and would not pee! Though to be fair, they are quite mindful of taking a leak only on their toilet.
  3. Upon returning home last night, I was happy to find the MEG class 156 I had ordered mid-October had arrived – not that I'd been unaware of it, thanks to the T&T app. In any case, I attached the detailing bits over my morning coffee... Illustrated article with better images to follow in due course. It does look like the camera attachment plate for my tripod's been swallowed by a black hole, though, so a replacement will have to be ordered first...
  4. Morning all... It certainly looks dreich outside, so I'm all the more glad I could sleep in after that long day I had yesterday. Though to be fair, I've had times when our pupils had been more unruly – but even so, six periods en bloc are fairly demanding. I sure am hoping Pete and all the other East Coast residents'll be okay, having just checked the news...
  5. And that's the way things were looking over here this afternoon!
  6. Mornin'... Lucky you for not having to be around at silly o'clock! And after school, I'll need to head to uni as well. I'm sure the bed will seem awfully attractive tonight... And cold it is, too – -2°C according to the outside sensor.
  7. Morning all... ...and good to hear from you, Jam! Looks like we're indeed below 0°C outside, though from what I can see through the open slot below the shutter, the sky's clearing up. Tomorrow by that time, I'll be at school again and mentally preparing for pupils who I'm sure will still be stuck in their autumn break. Looked more like Klingon to me! – jIlajneS. ghIj qet jaghmeyjaj!
  8. Dinner time: Moments after I took this photo, Albert claimed the carrot all for himself and chased Trude away!
  9. How much does a horse eat per day, Ian? Small as they may be, our rabbits do appear to be insatiable!
  10. Thou hast a dirty mind, Dave...
  11. Morning all... Mini blizzard outside, looks like. Amazing... Think I'll get dressed up soon and do my purchases, just in case it should get worse. But I do need a cuppa coffee first... Enjoy your day, everyone...
  12. I would not call this "unlikely". "Unfortunate" would be more like it...! Temperature's dropped below 5°C outside, wind is at about 12 knots and according to my weather app, windchill lowers temperature further to about freezing. I have no intention of finding out for myself whether this may be correct, though.
  13. I'm using FaceTime to chat with SWMBO when she's visiting her parents. Works rather well, though fast internet access is definitely recommended for good image quality. No problem here with 32 Mbit cable, but a bit more so when there's just 1 Mbit DSL on the other end!
  14. iD – keeping my fingers crossed for Jordi. I can well imagine this to be hard to stomach... That certainly does not look like it should, Stu. Hope it can be sorted out without too much in the way of trouble.
  15. Sorry to hear about that water damage, Stu. A friend of my dad's had something similar a few months back – in his case, it took a while to dry the walls again. Thankfully, his insurance caused no additional hassles in replacing damaged items and covering necessary repairs. Do keep us posted, Ashers!
  16. Morning all... Dull and dreich again, so I'm sure I'll be staying indoors for as long as possible. Haven't checked whether there may indeed have been the first few snowflakes, as had been predicted. Be back to you after my morning coffee!
  17. I haven't seen them do so thus far, but I never really looked that closely either. But, I do know rabbits are known for this kind of recycling. However, I'd rather not know what kinds of pranks they might pull on us if they did consume alcohol!
  18. Seems I didn't have enough for dinner after all, as I could swear you were talking about fish. I'm now sat here watching the rabbits do rabbity things and sipping some whiskey. Good way to let the day come to its end, I'd say.
  19. Looking out the window, it's looking rather gloomy outside. Sunset's approaching and thick grey clouds and haze abound, and I somehow feel like Enya's the suitable kind of music for eveninvs like these...
  20. Or toilet paper. - No, on additional reflection, I'd better not expand on that...
  21. Could be I asked the same thing before, but I am again wondering: What the H is so cool about setting your bike saddle so low that you're almost sitting on the rear wheel? Seems to be the current rage with the local youth in any case...
  22. I'm now on the train to the city. Before uni, I think I'll be stopping by at my usual Chinese diner again. Or will it be kebab this time? Decisions...
  23. UFO was even aired over here back in the 90s, and I did watch at least part of the show. It's quite intriguing that the real 1980s had turned out quite differently from those on the show, particularly where aesthetics were concerned...
  24. Oh my... Did any of you watch this show? So 70s in all respects...
  25. How I wish that cleaning the flat was indeed something you'd only have to do once in your lifetime!
