  6. Life is so good at times. ive just been given a 22 foot layout, complete with overhead lines, working points and colour light signals. and yes, it will be on the exhibition circuit next year! if i get invites!! watch a thread appearing next week when ive collected it. :-)

      Usually a couple of hours, but sometimes they put a hold on the transfer for 'review purposes. No idea what this means or why they do it though!

  9. had to laugh at the 47/3 on bachmanns website with the jumper on the nose end upside down!! it looks like a rhino! hopesits corrected before production!

  10. is finding making my own waterslide decals very therapeutic. zza snowploughs near completion! but i can hear things that have sat in my "to do" draw for years crying out to me!!

  11. picked up a new Bachmann dynamis handset for 25 quid today. happy!!

  12. modelling update today:- dremel collet siezed on = broken pliars trying to free = frustration and 1 hour modelling time lost = no dremel and one pair of needle pliar down. :-(

  13. it seems im a jinx. the last three loco's ive renumbered. the real counter parts have gone to kingsbury!!

  14. so many things going wrong on layout at min, and now derailing Hornby redland pga's are causing a real headache. seriously thinking of throwing in the towel all together.

  15. 21 redland hoppers need re-wheeling. and 18 Hornby HAA hoopers need new wheels. :-( more work to do.

  16. lima class 92, £10 non runner off ebay, soldered the pick up wires back on and bingo!! what a bargain. and all top detail present too!!

  17. put up 32 telegraph poles, and smoe repainted modelscene signals, layout detailing is starting in ernest!! pics will follow soon.

  18. stalling class 14 is causing frustrating. small outstanding jobs causing frustration, think i should spend time on the layout.

  19. have taken the plunge, and bought a hattons/Heljan class 14! after seeing my little 18 month old boy transfixed by 14029 at wansford. so thats the one i got! roll on tuesday!!

      NVR Thomas? That machine is etched in my memory. I remember the early 90's overhaul which at that age seemed like forever!

      From a model perspective they are both very very good indeed. As a loco I prefer the N15 though.
