  1. I was Hoping test coach Mercury would be a non driving end from their VEP. It would look better than just a brake end as mercury had a cab on the end of it that looked similar to an EMU cab.
  2. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all. Heres a special magical Hogwarts restoration to watch if you fancy over the festive period. Best wishes to all. from now, i’ll be using this one thread and uploading all subsequent videos. thanks all.
  3. Hi What i mean about the steps is that they are cast correctly for a class 31 (type2) but on this particular bogie they are cast at the opposite end to what they should be. Dan
  4. Hello, the second episode of my Trash to Track series is now live. in this episode i take a basket case loco and attempt to return it to working order.
  5. I have just restored one of these in my new video
  6. Hello, i have recently obtained a load of models that are well past their best. so i have started a series on my channel on Restoring some of these demics back into operational condition. Trash to Track episode one, featuring a Mainline Dean Goods is up now.
  7. Hello, Milk trains that ran on the GWR, did they run with mixed ownership tanks? would St Ivel tanks be seen in the same train as UD ones etc? thanks
  8. In the video i demonstrate fitting TTS sound to an older super detailed Hornby class 31. Also some sound demonstrations and a run in the garden.
  9. Simply superb. Even if parcel force had gouged a hole in the side, which concerned me at first, but thanks to it being double boxed, the product inside was completely unscathed. these are superb books. the best i have in my collection. well done to all, can't wait for the finale set. thanks to Phil Bullock for bringing these to our attention in the first place!
  10. Kevin, thanks for your response, apologies for the misunderstanding. I had pre-ordered it online in a discount bundle with diesel dawn 2 & 3 and also 'chasing diesels in the last century' however when i pre-ordered it, it was called First generation DMU'S, a pictorial observation. I believe the publishers have now changed it to Diesel dawn 4. so its the same bookazine i pre-ordered but just a different title. if that makes sense!
  11. Kevin do you know if this Diesel Dawn DMU's is JUST a change of title from the First generation DMU book that i preordered? or is this a different one?
  12. Just got a text to say mines coming tomorrow! Work home time will seem an age away!
  13. Sorry but the pop up adverts are really  too much, one nearly every page change.

yes, I'm getting full page ads when i sign in for first time each day. Way more annoying than the banner ads and literally of no relevance to me as current ones trying to sell me laptops for university - 25 years too late

  14. There are alot of superb books being released, but are there any actual Strathwood titles coming soon? 60’s spotting days and the like? many thanks Dan
  15. Allegedly published last week, but now showing out of stock already, does anyone know if part 3 is actually available yet?

  18. Heres the video showing track laying, electrics and a running session.
  19. J15 waits to take passengers back to the garage station, (as yet un-named) Std 4 tank on the demonstration goods. Hattons P class loco. i cannot convey how good this loco is, its superb running quality, looks, everything about it is worth every penny of its asking price. it is simply splendid plodding around the garden.
  20. Good Morning I have been working on the layout and am now half way to what will be a destination i the garden shed from the main layout in the garage. Construction was detailed in the above YouTube video, and i will upload another showing the track laying, electrics and a running session soon. meanwhile here are some stills of OO running in the great outdoors. 30850 Waits entry into the garage platform as 797 leaves with a passenger service. 5055 passes 30850, which will couple to the rear of the train once 5055 has arrived into Plumtree platform and is uncoupled and 30850 will haul it back to the garage station. This method of operating proved more interesting than just running around. D8546 heads a demonstration goods to Plumtree station. 5055 attempted panning shot. D8546 waits at the signal for platform entry. HST heads back to the main line after visiting with a charter train. LT Pannier L97 waits with a mixed van and vintage carriage train at Plumtree.
  21. Heres my new video showing the restoration to running order of my Lima GWR railcar, and also fit DCC to it.
