  1. No! Only 230V (or 16V for panel mounts and hand-helds) 50Hz~ input.
  2. Which achieves nothing! At least eating is productive!
  3. Not planning on pigging out then?
  4. Good Evening Awl, Three medical appointments considered, one being taken 3.5 Hours early, another 20 minutes late. Nil Desperandum. As I understand things from my research, both Dignitas and Exit require you to be a paid up member to their 'club' to allow you to use their service. Last time I looked, around 200CHF or SFr.

  6. I have deleted your joker and quote: "The Institution of Engineering and Technology is a multidisciplinary professional engineering institution. The IET was formed in 2006 from two separate institutions: the Institution of Electrical Engineers, dating back to 1871, and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers dating back to 1884." They are professional bodies of academically qualified members. For example, the Institute of Advanced Motorists is an amateur organisation. I will also point out for reference (and will go no further on this soap box) that in all cases above, the word 'Engineer' is capitalised. Heating, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical (et alia) ""engineers"" who present to fix your household appliances are excluded! Hence the 'need' for salutations like 'Dipl Ing' and (IIRC) Eur Ing which have been introduced to trump CEng to reflect the academic status. Only in america was Casey Jones an engineer!
  7. Just one observation: Institute or Institution? The IMechE, IMarE, IEE, ICE, etc. are all Institutions as distinct from Institutes!
  8. Sorry, but that's the MALE not the female. It has the pins! (i.e. the bits which plug in!) The bit with the screw terminals that you pictured is the FEMALE as it has a receptacle to receive the pins! Ever had kids?

For what it's worth (and probably, given previous posts) a waste of posting: Jim Titheridge 17 September at 06:17 · said: What HE said!
  11. Good Evening Awl, After a relatively mundane day, please permit me to quote a post and pose a question. How are James Bond and Dr. Syn, of Romney Marsh smuggling repute, connected? (This could be extended to the connection between Ian Fleming and Russell Thorndike!) FYI, multi-quote is not quoting but single quote is under Firefox.
  12. Remember them well! About 180kB of storage compared to the 360kB of a 5 1/4" floppy!
  13. At the time, it was 'cutting edge' for the home computer!
  14. Don't blame you; I'd have done the same! Apology unnecessary!
  15. For my colonoscopy, I had to attend a 'drive-thru' PCR TEST at a portacabin adjacent to the endoscopy unit. This allowed them to directly issue the preparatory potions without the cost of postage to me! Cunning!!
  16. That'll be the yeast culture, then!
  17. @Brian D: The word puzzle is easy to solve; any intrusions of ' XCVBNM,' are simply where the space bar has been missed! OK, it's only the biggest key on the keyboard!
  18. Good afternoon Awl, for it still seems to be so. Shopping has been shopped and bathroom lighting problems have been identified and a solution found. Solution just needs to be rolled out to the other three fixtures. I have recently been advised to double a dose of one of my meds. Being a bear of little brain but of habit, I decided to wait for the next renewal to get the increased dose. However, this did not appease Nurse Cardio so when I presented for my recent blood test, I asked if I could have 7 days worth of the drug 'at the old price' so that I could keep my other meds synchronised for starting in conjunction. They acceded and I now have two lots of the aforementioned (1.25mg dose) for next week. Sometime next week, i will order the full 2.5mg dose along with my multitude of other meds. Elsewhere, I note that @Barry O is still about and keeping tabs on us!. Any absence on my part should be recorded as "Retired, Not Out"!
  19. You only need to take the swab from the wrapping and place it directly in the solution as instructed; leave it for the advised time and apply the drops to the tester. At no time has the swab been anywhere the nose! The flaw in the system which allows this is that a negative result is not distinguished from an equipment test (Control) result; both only show the 'C' line and can thus be achieved by two methods. Interestingly, there is a third state (other than 'C' and 'T') in which either neither line or only the 'T' line shows; this constitutes a 'void' result. Now, whilst I agree that the presence of both the 'C' and the 'T' lines prove a positive result, perhaps there is a case for adding a third line and using this, in conjunction with the 'C' line, to confirm a negative result whilst also confirming that the swab has actually been inserted into the nostrils?
  20. But is not the lateral flow test not totally reliable? It's too easy to fake!
  21. So how is multiquote supposed to work? Is it not just allowing responders to reply to posts from several other posters or are you expecting it to allow several responses to a post from one member?
  22. I believe you understate @Barry O who used to fulfil this mantle! I wonder if there is a general underlying reason for their absence?
  23. Yes, I know, and I am never bothered to read anything on this forum which can not be directly posted here on. If he has to hide himself behind a blog then that's his problem, not mine!
