You guys talking of paint has reminded me of one of the most useful "modelling" apps I have on me phone.
iOS & android
"A virtual paint rack for miniature, hobby, and wargamer painters!
Track your hobby model paint collection now! Scan their barcodes. Find matches of paint colors across brands. Save your miniature paint recipes for future reference.
FEATURES:
LIBRARY: track your paints with over 20000 paints from top manufacturers!
SETS: create custom paint SETS (or recipes) for your models
*WISH LIST: helps you track paints you need
*RAPID SCAN: most bottles can be added by scanning bar codes on bottles
*COLOR TOOLS: will help you find the best matching paint colors"
Enjoy 👍😁
I started using it just after Christmas. But stopped once I had entered in all of my Vallejo and humbrol tins. It doesn’t have railmatch or Precision paints. I emailed them and they don’t have plans to add them. But if we all ask maybe they will.

For 1934 you’ll also need to look at the cab window shutters. You can buy replacement buffers from Alan Gibson along with your handrail knobs and dart.

Some info on GWR articulated restaurant cars here GWR coaches.org
The triplet coaches had 42 first and 56 third class diners.
I doubt that LNER borrowed GWR coaches as they were wider, 9’ over the body waist and 9’ 5 over the door handles.

I'm looking for a scale drawing of coach vacuum and steam hoses and the mountings so that I can use them for some 3d modelling. Can someone point me in the right driection. Thanks

I’m relieved to report that the menus are now fixed.
I have also made it so that pop-up photos of drawings no longer exceed the screen width; thanks to Neal pointing that out.
Sorting this out that has made me realise why I got so little modelling done last year. It also makes me wonder how I’m going to scan and upload the 200+ photos I’ve got of coaches, let alone some lovely drawings of underframes.

All links to Penhros.me.uk from gwr.org.uk now updated, but I find it awkward not to be able to link to specific pages, particularly now the coach area has its dedicated domain.
Coaches are now hosted separately on https://gwrcoaches.org.uk. This means links to specific pages are working and it is possible to link to a specific diagram eg https://gwrcoaches.org.uk/Tdiags.shtml#T41 or https://gwrcoaches.org.uk/Clerestories2.shtml#C13
I've been through this entire thread and updated all of the links on my posts. Unfortunately I can't do anyone elses links 🙁
For some reason the menu is only working on the home page. Well that's buggered up my afternoon.
Could someone please have a good look around and see if there are any other problems with the site. Thanks.

Thank you! I am getting this error message though:
"Please stand by while configuration is in progress."
Is that when you use the link in my signature or when you type in "gwrcoaches.or.uk"? Yes I've missed the g from org.

The website should be up and running. Please note that it is no longer www.gwrcoaches.org.uk, you need to leave off the www. Being a bit of web novice I'm not sure if it is how it shoul work or if I need to do something.
You can now link into any of the pages and even link to a specific diagram by adding #D40 to the link (assuming you want to link to a D40 !).

There might be a bit of disruption to www.gwrcoaches.org.uk over the next few days as I migrate hosting packages.

@Portchullin Tatty I’m not questioning that. But you haven’t answered the question about if trailers are allowed in this challenge

The brake rodding should unclip from between the shoe hangers and come away from the underside of the loco.
Not sure about the balance weights but if it would be helpful I could have a look at etching some based on our wheels.
I’ll have a set please. Do you have any plans to do the numberplates for the A(N&SW)D&R pair please?

Guilty as charged!
Also, a not inconsiderable number of rtr buffers as well, generally due to the manufacturers inability to get them right.
You might be selling a lot of your GW wagon buffers with the imminent arrival of the rapido wagons with their incorrect buffers

The rules states:
d. The layout has to be portable and capable of being transported by a single car or similar size vehicle and exhibited by two people (see also
expense rule 14).
The previous S4 competition also had the same praise about being transported by a single car. The winning layout was by far the biggest of the entrants as it had come in a trailer. -
I’ve just read that Rhymney signal arms had 2 white stripes rather than just 1. TVR , RR & Barry signals, on railsigns.uk . Although I’ve not been able to find a photo that proves it, just this photo at Tirphil which has 1 arm that might have 2 stripEs

Here's the start of my foray into 3D printed track. My son has printed these sleepers on his reasonably new Anycubic Kobra. He’s used the default slicer settings which I think need improving. The question is how to translate Martin’s recommended settings for his machine to a Kobra? What's odd is that it has filled in one of the chair slots, bottom left.

I'm looking to get into computer control for my layout. I currently have a couple of Roco Multimaus. Someone has previously mentioned the DCC Decoders USB interface and also the Unlenbrock LocoNet USE interface. Will these two together with my Multimaus provide a good reliable PC interface to a DCC layout?
The DCC Decoders USB interface manuls talk about Lenz LI100, Train Controller and JMRI. Am I right to assume that it will also work with Roco Mulitmaus, Rocrail and Itrain?
The DCC Decoders USB interface also provides a S88N interface. How many 8 channel feedback modules can I connect to it?

It looks like Bachmann/ESU have redesigned their most recent version of the 36-566A decoder. Whilst there is no mention of adding stay alive in instructions provided or the ESU LokPilot Standard online instructions, there are 3 additional solder pads on the decoder that look suspiciously like the connections that ESU normally use. Can I fit stay alive to the latest Bachmann 36-566A ?

Does that list include 2 3D printers and a wash/cure station?

Here’s my C66. Sorry I can’t tell you much about it as I bought it built. The chassis looks like it’s a standard Comet product. The solebars might have a joint in the middle.
