  1. I would have thought that refurbished Class 153's would have been a preferable to the 230's.
  2. Thank you that, much appreciated.
  3. I'd be interested to know what was involved in converting the 16xx to EM gauge.
  4. I've been seeing a few "Tweets" that section(s) of the Footbridge have been installed. https://twitter.com/Marshrail/status/1599167429325852672/photo/1
  5. This one ? https://www.tivertonmuseum.org.uk/news/2022/02/10/the-tivvy-bumper
  6. I found this article http://www.traintesting.com/Research74.htm the early part of which describes the condition of the track near Verney Junction in 1974.
  7. Some old Euston to Watford EMU's were stored there at that time.
  8. https://www.crecy.co.uk/british-railways-first-generation-dmus stating availability from 25th November.
  9. Take a look at https://www.rmweb.co.uk/topic/171854-passim-interlocking-project/#comment-4813353
  10. Maybe D2195? It was photographed at Highworth 18/06/1962 https://railphotoprints.uk/p426458760/h4CAFE18A#h4cafe18a D2195 allocated to 82C 23/05/1961
  11. However, Wooden doors were only originally fitted up to 08704 (D3871).
  12. Looking at online photographs of 08 419 suggest that it was withdrawn with Air Brake only and no exhauster cabinet on the other side, so it looks like Hornby have probably that correct.
  13. Have you seen the Close Coupling Systems available from: http://www.keen-systems.com/Couplings.html maybe worth a look?
  14. Still waiting for mine! 😞
  15. I spent many an hour 'Spotting' on Platform 8; the new Platform 8 (if that's what it's going to be) will not have the same appeal to me!
  16. Some images of the Bicester end of EWR. https://twitter.com/Marshrail/status/1557811483043659776?s=20&t=iUZPmaXELnxEDhQOeGb4lw
  17. Possibly as a result of the Euston rebuilding when some trains were diverted off the WCML at Bletchley. I was fortunate enough to travel on an Heysham to London (Marylebone) Train that called at Bletchley. The strange thing was, there was no return working via this route.
  18. Didn't BoJo once say in PMQ's that "he would look at it" which in layman's terms means "it ain't gonna happen".
  19. I was born and bred just a couple hundred yards from that bridge. I spent many an hour there watching the trains go by; Black Fives, 8F's and BR Std 4's, 5's and 9F's etc happy days. p.s forgot to add D2510 coming home for the weekend having worked all week at Aylesbury. Have they installed a double junction just north of the Bletchley Platforms? The bridge over the dual carriageway is still single though?
  20. I'm wondering if the Facing Points being installed are for Oxford to Bedford trains to run 'wrong line' into Bletchley elevated Platform and then a simplified junction onto the Bedford Branch.
  21. At a rough guess, that looks like the train was between Selbourne Avenue Bridge and the beginning of the flyover where the old Fletton Sidings Signalbox used to be??
  22. Hi Gary, my call G4NVB maybe catch you the bands, mainly FT8 at the moment.
  23. I am very sorry to hear that Frank has passed away. Frank and I not only shared Railways and Model Railways as our hobbies, we were both also Radio Amateur's. Frank was indeed a very knowledgeable character and will be sorely missed. R.I.P Frank. P.S I've just read this thread https://www.facebook.com/groups/12699105116/permalink/10166429522395117/ It looks like Frank was in the process of getting back on-air, how very sad that he didn't make it. In the Amateur Radio world, Frank is now said to be SK (Silent Key).
