  1. Brewery at sunset. I think just playing about with arrangements is one of my favourite parts of this hobby. (yes it's squinty but it is just resting on the shops)
  2. They come in a packet from The Range and are bits for people who want to make their own jewellery. £1 for the pack. This isn't finished I'll probably add some figures. Andrew
  3. Quite liking the look of this It's starting to drift away from the prototype but, hey...
  4. Thanks, my buildings are really just bespoke Superquick kits
  5. Starting work on that gate, or something close to it.
  6. Thanks, the buildings are bashed about versions of the classic Bilteeze series, much underrated!
  7. This is a gem and that plastic work is really first class. Structures look like they weigh a tonne. Andrew
  8. I tend to use a thicker plastic, scribe it, run paint in the channel and polish off excess on surface of windows. That could be an answer to your window frame painting comments. My 2mm model, Stratham, is packed away at the moment and this is the only photo I could find but it just about demonstrates how crisp you can get it
  9. I have a compass cutter, particularly useful for mounting board. I also have a large selection of old school clear plastic circle and eclipse guides. My father was a technical illustrator at Ford's before there were computers! Andrew
  10. Great layout. It amazes me that I have been on this site for years and still discover new layouts like this with their own distinctive feel. Some of those shots could be straight out of period documentaries. Thanks for sharing. Andrew
  11. Progress so far. I have taken some liberties with the infilled arch: it was done pretty badly on the original but they didn't have mismatched brick. I have also put a concrete plinth on the bottom of the wall (pleased if anyone can tell me the real word for this architectural feature!) which isn't in the original. All looks a bit hairy up close but that's my old school style of modelling. For those that have been giving it, thanks for your attention! Andrew
  12. A little more on the Flying Horse and its environs. Small cameo I am developing, needs to be weathered and bedded in but you can get the point. Good job I opted for 2 x 5mm foam board as "over-baseboards", plenty to dig into. now have to find a brewery lorry from 1957, any suggestions welcome. Andrew
  13. I am going to have a foreshortened version of the yard with gates and the clocktower building will be semi relief on the back scene. This will be right at the back and furthest corner of a board, possibly with a little cameo of a truck being checked on the way out of the gate (wouldn't want to "lose" any crates of beer). Andrew
  14. Here, courtesy of google is what it looks like today.. on the right is the infamous Blind Beggar pub
  15. Something new brewing in Aldersgate (why did I resort to that?). For the end of the first board, a brewery inspired by the Albion Brewery in Whitechapel High Street (most of the site now a Sainsbury's I think but much of the original building still intact).
  16. Thanks for the tip. That pony truck is a pain most irritating on certain points!
  17. little more progress over the weekend just messing about with some existing structures I normally consider life's too short for interiors but since this will be at the very front of the Clerkenwell board, I mocked up some simple internals if you have been, thanks for looking Andrew
  18. The pub names are all generated by computer. The writing in the windows are from a vintage photo of the real thing. None of us ave as much room as we would like, just do a corner. Agreed, the scalescenes range is excellent. Thanks for comments. Andrew
