  1. They only seem to do the fan grills, or the description is a bit vague like ‘roof grill’.
  2. I’m about to start the conversion of one of the current issue of Farish class 25/2s into one of 25083 - 25088. These 5 Locos had steam heat boilers and underframe details that largely match the 25/2 but using the 25/3 carbody. Does anyone know a source of etched cantrail grills that could be used for these, I’d even consider class 26/27/33 ones as a stand in. This is what they looked like https://www.derbysulzers.com/25083a.html https://www.derbysulzers.com/25087.html Ultima, BHE etc seem to do fan grills but not the cantrail ones.
  3. Well he who hesitates.....https://www.en.dm-toys.de/newsletter.211/items/newslettere464.html they have all sold out in a little over a week. I’m sure as they have been so popular that a rerun will be arranged. The TWA building is coming along very slowly, glued all the outside walls on after I thought I’d done all the windows that couldn’t be accessed from the rear only to discover one complete vertical run of windows I could get to! Knife out again and wall removed. I’ll get a few progress pictures done shortly.
  4. Prices up for the Mk2f on the website. We had better start saving! http://www.Bachmann.co.uk/product/graham-farish-br-mk2f-fo-first-open-coach-intercity-374-762/
  5. Excellent news, you can NEVER have enough pway wagons. I will be ordering some for Olympia.
  6. Nearly a month since the last posting, not good. Off to the NGS meeting on Saturday where I might make some progress on the TWA building. I did spray it with the stone effect paint and it looked.......bloody awful.......so it’s been resprayed in undercoat for me to hand paint it with lighter tones. I like ferry wagons and this is very interesting shame it’s to 1/160 but I might still get one or two https://www.en.dm-toys.de/newsletter.211/items/newslettere464.html
  7. My first visit to the Doncaster Show, bit closer living in York now rather than Brighton. ECML blocked for engineering works York to Doncaster so only one train an hour, HSTs, diverted via Knottingly so a nice little trundle round the countryside. Doncaster bus station, New but depressing. Shuttle bus went from A1 not C6 and not well signed. Service good. Show was very good, busier than I expected. Some tight spaces between stands and some large empty areas. Good balance of layouts and traders. My favourite layouts Shirebrook- brought back memories. Lime Street - unbelievably good and the Forth Bridge well that was amazing. Food court not enough tables and seats and the less said about my Pie peas and mash the better. 7/10 Overall an enjoyable day out.
  8. The research is often the most interesting part of our hobby....keep going please Grahame
  9. This is the PG models cab married to a modified BT models box van chassis and enlarged body. This will gain some Harrods logos eventually. And whilst being worked on.....I changed my mind what it represent hence the change of colour.
  10. I’ve got an article on the Transfesa vans and some RTR substitute ferry vehicles if you’d like that first?
  11. Not much progress on anything Grahame, been busy with the first of the books. I’ve done a little more to the TWA building but the Interfrigo van hasn’t been touched. Most stuff has been packed away, maybe a bit prematurely, as we are expecting the builders to descend on the house shortly. I’ll probably take the Interfrigo van to the next NGS meeting and do some work on it and get some photos taken then.
  12. Yes I have, thank you, one of my old work colleagues tipped me off. I have bought a copy. Most of the pictures I have seen before as they are from the Rail online website. The photos at Wandsworth common were new to me. Useful article with details of the many freight workings, wish they had put in some dates but the article is subtitled 60s and early 70s.
  13. This appears to be the type, from Paul Bartlett’s site. Oh for them to have been to 1/148. https://goo.gl/v5qcsZ
  14. Osbourne Models are showing an N Gauge LD van in there 3D printed series, only seems to be available painted. http://www.osbornsmodels.com/arch-laser-a3d0037-austinmorris-ld-postal-van-44620-p.asp
  15. That’s a whole lot of Minix.....looking good. I always felt they were underrated models.
  16. Mk2 FK due for a second issue this year, Mk2 BFK should have been a no brainier as it uses the existing BSO body.
  17. Long sold out and no second issue yet. I do have rather a lot of them as I need them for my Motorail services...sorry.
  18. With GF issuing the first sound fitted class 47 under the Colas body I can see some body swops coming on. It looks like 47727 has mark lights fitted in the former headcode area. Now I’ve only got 47/0 and 47/4 bodies either with marker lights or headcode boxes and no headlights. Looks like you would need to swop the bodies and fuel tanks to get them sound fitted. Is the headlight just another light tube or a separate piece that would need to be swopped too?
  19. I think the class 47 retool is the chassis as it will now be speaker fitted.
  20. Hattons have the Blue Pullman listed as 322.96
  21. Some odd choices there. virgin 47/8 why not an IC one to go with the forthcoming IC Mk2 air cons? sound fitting the Colas 47...really? I suppose it will shift a limited Livery version. Still no second issue blue grey Mk1 FK. Overall a cheap year for me, nothing of interest today apart from 47018.
  22. Ha ha, that’s an idea I don’t think I’d get away with. Room is more than big enough for Olympia and work bench etc and leaves the garage big enough for our current car. One of our goals was not to make the house any bigger than the existing footprint, just much more useable. The Minions came from Aldi Christmas 2016.
  23. I’ve been running mine in on my Kato test track loop, standard radius curves no problems, about 9 1/2 inch radius.
