  1. My copy dropped through the letterbox yesterday, excellent job Grahame.
  2. Shame about the Hobby Box, brought loads over the years both in the old and new shops. The Brighton area has long been a desert for Model shops, you can't even get a tin of Humbrol enamel in the city ( I think ). I guess the rents on a shop are prohibitively expensive anyway. Having moved to York I now have two shops in the city to choose from.
  3. Probably around £4-£4.50 a pint. Managed to get two pints of Black Sheep for £6 in Leeds on Saturday.....bargain.
  4. A fun filled week, managed to set the B£@@d$ alarm off in the house after I removed the screws to what I thought was the door bell chimes! Got two boards set up in the dining room to do some work on and had a pleasant day at http://www.yorkshirengauge.org.uk on Saturday. Heading south on Wednesday for another retirement do at Three Bridges.
  5. They also appear to do a Tractor unit as well. It's a shame that the cab only are not available as these could be fitted to an ODC or BT chassis.
  6. And its looks like the Cambridge / Ely Motorail didn't start until 1974.
  7. Haven't been that lucky........haven't ventured into the loft yet
  8. Unfortunately this crap was left by the elderly couple who moved out of the house, none was ours. We did add to the pile by removing all the chipboard built in wardrobes in one bedroom.
  9. Well just over two weeks in the new house, I have taken so much crap to local tip that I'm nearly on first name terms with the guys who work there! Several rooms now sorted out and we are down to under 20 crates to empty. Olympia is currently still boxed up in the garage but is likely to get moved into the dining room as a temporary home shortly....once we move the remaining packing crates out of there.
  10. Mmmmm 1986 a bit late for me....however rule 1 always applies.
  11. Thanks, I realised that after I'd posted. The repaint will be as a van......probably for a builder, in rough condition.
  12. Sorry wrong name but it was what I thought, Transit predecessor .....shame it's it British Railways maroon and cream and not in British Rail Livery. A repaint beckons.
  13. Thames trader and Hillman Imp for n Gauge. I look forward to them arriving.
  14. Mine arrived today at our new home.
  15. Thanks Pete, It'll be a while before Olympia gets reassembled.....so many boxes to unpack and lots of work to do to get the house straight.....and that's before we start any building work!
  16. We have landed in Haxby Removal lorry arrived just after us yesterday afternoon, spent two hours unloading, before finishing off this morning. I have never seen a lorry so full......and BT have got the internet and phone up and running on the day they said. Taken me until 2200 to plug the router in though!!! Olympia is now in another garage!
  17. Thank you, ill see what I can do for the newsletter, Letter from Yorkshire, rather than letter from America. 43 years with the club, only worked for 37 and married for 19. I even remember when KRC was just a boy!
  18. Removal firm arrived this morning. They have packed almost everything already today. Left us with a bed, microwave and a tv for an exciting night in watching the Crossrail project on BBC2! Last food from the freezer eaten plus a nice Lamb Pathia from our local takeaway. Kensington Olympia is on the lorry. The buildings are in the car! We head north tomorrow and unpack on Wednesday.
  19. I have the Engineers Olive green on order these would appear to be the 3rd release if Dave is manufacturing in order from the catalogue numbers. But Dave might be going by the number of preorders?
  20. Blimey I used to go there every time I was staying at my Aunt and Uncles in Clifton Grove, used to do Beatties at the other end of the city centre at the same time. Great range of stuff. I even managed a visit there when I was on Hastings DEMU railtour to Nottingham. Hope in survives. From a modelshop free zone, Brighton.
  21. No Doug didn't make it. He rarely comes now. DC is helping break up his layouts, big shame. Thank you weather should be OK too. More beer yesterday as I went up to Three Bridges to meet my former work colleagues and put the world to rights!
  22. Just 5 days to go before the big move starts. Yesterday I had a great morning getting a former colleagues O Gauge DCC layout up and running. We had got the layout powered up a few weeks ago but none of the points were working. After about 5 mins I had half the motors working and found the broken wire to the fifth. The sixth motor ( they were all tortoises) had a broken baseplate so I made a new one from plasticard and got that running. The last two had to trace the wires to find breaks on all 4 wires. Sorted! Spent the next hour "testing"!!! Great stuff running sound fitted class 03, 33 and 73 up and down the layout. Last night was a farewell drink ( or two ) with the Brighton MRC members. Thank you for 43 years of fun and games and we even managed to wet the babies head as Adam is now a dad.
  23. I assume the other liveries won't be far behind?
  24. As I will have 3x2 class 25s for the Motorail services from Olympia the idea of sound fitted is very tempting. The class 40 will have to do for the time being!
  25. As you would expect no progress on the layout, but on the moving front it's just two weeks before the move starts..... and in shock BT news we had a new telephone number allocated within one hour of going online to get it and the internet connection sorted......probably take two weeks to get them connected.
