Weird - that diagram is drawn with the south at the top and 'The Chocolate Poodle' on the wrong side of the running lines (the building is on the Down Side at the bottom of the station approach).

It’s not representative of the actual location of the building , it’s just the way the names of various landmarks like bridges, roads, rivers etc are presented I.e at the bottom of the diagram.

I suppose it is strange that the diagram goes left to right, (Reading Oxford Rd Jn > Westbury Station) you would expect North to be at the top and therefore the diagram would be followed right to left.

    Hi everyone,

Just a mini update (and a tease!). Our new run of 21ton mineral wagons (including our exclusive ZDV wagon) and also our coil A wagons are complete and are about to ship from the factory in China.

These are about to be loaded into a container and will arrive with us in Mid October. Shortly after that they will land on your layouts! We will have some proper snaps of these packs in the next week or so, but in the meantime here is a bit of a teaser....

Some nice printing and lettering details on these 😉

    Cheers!

Are the "real coal" loads for MDO/V Wagons also in that consignment of goodies?

Maybe a D800 series warship, then along with the Bulleid Pacifics mentioned here and the already announced class 50, that pretty much has traction for Waterloo-Exeter trains sewn up for around 40 years. I find the Bachmann model okay but I’d like the option of original nose design pre head code boxes and I’m sure Accurascale could make all kinds of general improvements to make it worthwhile.

    Hi,

There are Balises for end of OLE protection for the limit of OLE at Newbury on the approach to Newbury, but the (manual) Power Change-Over area is on the approach to Newbury Racecourse station with the 'Stop Immediately if Pantograph not lowered' sign on immediate approach to the junction at Newbury Racecourse.

I’m guessing something has happened there?

    Simon

    Oops, something hasn’t worked then!
The pantograph on 800316 lost an argument with a bridge on the Westbury side of Newbury today.

The reason for providing the Automated Back Up via ETCS Packet 44 Data was NOT because of a 'lack of trust' of signallers or drivers, it is because  the risk of a significant de-wirement event, should the driver get it wrong and a pantograph still be raised when the wires ran out, was too great, and frankly, it turns out it is needed at Cardiff. There are other ends of OLE on the Great Western that don't have Balises installed as has been assessed to be low risk if the driver gets it wrong.

Would I be right then, in thinking, that these Balises weren’t installed in the Newbury area?

I thought this was a really clever use of different shapes and textures for a scenic break, and really good forced perspective in the view through the arch, also clever spot lighting there, I've not seen that before. The cranes painted on the backscene are very convincing but perhaps some of the other colours are a bit questionable - I'm really not sure about that phone box. The curve's too sharp of course but can't be helped given the constraints of space. I think they were pushing their luck with the name on the business under the arch. I've never liked humorous names on models, it spoils the illusion.

Entrance to Swansea Docks (station apparently to the right). From a Facebook group, borrowed from somewhere else, no details of photographer, no hits on Google Lens.

😂 I saw that Facebook post too and immediately this thread sprang to mind!

very nearly. We’d hopefully tally up and there will be a small stock dropped online monday or tuesday around lunchtime.

Is that just the direct orders almost complete? Have the retailers (i.e RoS) got theirs on the way as well or is that the next big dispatch job for the warehouse?

As yet I have no information on destinations other than 14977 was  ‘Reading’ so I’ll have to investigate, guess or leave off the destination altogether

Reading was the main (only?) Signalling works for the GWR so Reading is probably a good bet for the other wagons as well.

The GWR 166s have just commenced their refresh program at Wolverton. 166215 being the first, 166221 is next in line. All the 166 which remain in the above blue should reemerge from their time at Wolverton wearing green.

Whilst not a name in itself, I do like the unique branding applied to each different global city on the Hex 377’s.

A typo? Heathrow Express liveried units are 387s:

    387130 SAN FRANCISCO

    387131 SYDNEY

    387132 NEW YORK
    387133 TOKYO
    387134 BARCELONA
    387135 ROME
    387136 PARIS
    387137 AMSTERDAM
    387138 LAS VEGAS
    387139 DUBLIN
    387140 LONDON
    387141 PRAGUE

As an aside, being that 166221 "Reading Train Care Depot" is allocated to St Phillips Marsh and has been for some time, IMO I think that name should transfer to one of Reading's Class 387.

It would make sense, as well, to do it this year as it marks 10 years of operations at Reading TCD.

  11. After being thwarted by Nuneham Viaduct to remove the last of the GWR 769s from Reading TCD (the moves were supposed to take place the day the line was closed). This last week has seen the removal (by road) of the final three 769s.
769959 being the last unit to go and the final two vehicles of 959 were removed Friday morning (09/06). Reading is now a 769 free area!

A mix of my photos and some from colleagues of the previous moves and the final move:

  12. I’m in that club too. Got diagnosed end of 2019 with a tumour in the tube between bladder & left kidney. Luckily the ‘Big C’ was so low grade it was more of ‘lower case c’ and it was caught very early on. One op later and it was all gone (along with one kidney) and every check since has been clear - I’m now on annual checks as opposed to every three months.

Again I can only reiterate what others have said, if you have any doubts, signs or symptoms get yourself to your GP and get it checked out!

Mine arrived this afternoon, can't fault the speed of delivery, once they are posted.

Agree, ordered the BR Blue Newspaper version late Sunday night, arrived just after lunchtime Tuesday! Great service.

Not had notification yet of dispatch of pre-order (the enparts exclusive) which was ordered when it was released.

not a criticism btw, I appreciate its probably not been unpacked yet or is awaiting processing by the dispatch team.
