It’s still there (or has returned); https://railsofsheffield.com/products/class-60-062-db-cargo-uk-steel-on-steel-sonia-diesel-electric-locomotive

I had one of these on order from Hattons as soon as they announced their project, which as we know was subsequently canned, so I'll definitely be having the BR yellow version.

Bargain Hunters Mark 2
Banger Blue replied to newbryford's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
I think the 'Extrabargain' 5% was only for those who subscribe to the RoS newsletter (or something like that). Also the item(s) purchased must already be an existing bargain. -
Christleton Junction - 1986 - Gateway to North Wales
Banger Blue replied to 61656's topic in Layout topics
Wasn’t there a wagon repair facility somewhere along the N. Wales Coast? I’m sure I’ve seen it mentioned by @big jim who had some family connection to it, if I remember correctly. -
I’m a July birthday too! 😁 I ordered the all singing / dancing Tamworth Castle Ice Cream Wagon as a treat for my 50th. I’m 53 this birthday but I shall still wait patiently as I seem to recall having to wait well over 4 years for the Class 40 (40141 IIRC) from Bachmann (who do this as a day job! 🤣).

You aren’t the only one who thought that!

I was there as a young teenager, I’d go for 56133 if it was done.

My LL 56 is destined to become 124 as well. I’ve got a BR Blue one on the way as well which will be renumbered to 060. The transfers are ready and waiting! 56124 was one of the first LL 56s I saw, which was just prior to it’s naming ceremony. The nameplates were covered over. 56060 I was lucky enough to have a little drive of at Toton, when as a young teenager, my mate & I were shown round by a spare driver courtesy of the very kind foreman.

Thankfully the first thing Trains 4U did was confirm my address, I thought I had updated all my pre-orders when we moved - obviously not! 😲 very relieved 😅!

RMweb Premium - No Google Ads
Banger Blue replied to AY Mod's topic in Forum Rules, Notices, Faults & Help
Good Morning I’m sure this banner ad, between the 1st & 2nd topic in a forum, was never there before! I presume it’s part of this current recruitment drive or am I going mad and there’s always a banner ad there? Merry Christmas. -
I thought exactly the same then checked my 'Junk' folder - it was in there.

Easy, empties go one way, full ones go the other! Which ever way that is, is up to Kevin! 😃

Yes, the disruption was all connected, it wasn’t a smooth transition at all. Someone may correct me but I think some of the Class 345s were still installed with an earlier version of the required software. Something like that!

Great Western rail cracks
Banger Blue replied to ess1uk's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
They are genuine photos (obviously leaked from the control log!) The “tram track” one is at Bourton between Didcot & Swindon, the broken rail with the 387 bogie in view is on the Up Main at Iver. The 387 had been inspecting the line at caution, after a previous service had reported a ‘bump’ in the track. -
USATC & WD Loco Crews During WW2
Banger Blue replied to Fair Oak Junction's topic in UK Prototype Questions
Harold Gasson, in his book “Firing Days”, recalls spending a week on loan from his home shed at Didcot, assisting the US Army with their Locomotives at the huge supply depot at Newbury Racecourse. His driver for that week was an American railwayman. -
Class 50 Photos....
Banger Blue replied to Steve-e's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
Interesting to read the "How to get home tonight" part of the article as 40 years later and Paddington is once again closed with long distance services terminating at Reading with a limited service running between Reading & Ealing Broadway. Thankfully though, this isn't as a result of an accident but planned engineering work in preparation for the construction of the HS2 station at Old Oak. -
This is more website mechanics related than an account query. When I go into ‘My Orders’ all the orders are displayed in chronological order with latest order at the top. Would it be possible to add a filter to only display orders that are ‘payment pending’ & ‘unfulfilled’ please? kind regards.
-
Sorry, I see what you were getting at now. For trains whose destinations are in same ‘region’ the respective WTT book will list the destinations and they may well use some of the “inter-regional” letters. For example, in my area E, L & S are used by trains remaining in the same ‘region’: E: Class 2 trains from Oxford to the Cotswolds and v/v. L: Class 2 trains Reading > Didcot / Oxford also Class 1 trains originating in the “PB” WTT area. S: Class 2 trains from Paddington to Hayes & Harlington or Slough and v/v.

One Headcode to watch out for is 1Z99 which can be a: Traction unit going to assist a failed train. Breakdown or Overhead Line Equipment train going to clear the line. Snowplough going to clear the line. Another "fixed" headcode is 2Z01 which is described as an "Officers' special train". I've only seen it used once myself and that was for a unit conveying some of the Company Top Brass (think MD + Directors) plus invited dignitaries from the Station to the TCD (and return).

Class 5 is very much used for ECS going to form a scheduled service. Class 3 where authorised is, as you say a higher priority ECS. This is todays line up from Reading TCD, as you can see the vast majority of departures from the depot are Class 5. The only Class 3 to form a scheduled service is 3K19 which goes off to Newbury to form 2K19 the 05:27 stopping service to Reading. There's a Heathrow Express ECS move during the day (for maintenance purposes) that runs as a Class 3: 3R45 > Reading / 3T60 > Paddington. https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/detailed/gb-nr:RDNGTCD/2023-11-15/0200-0159?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt The inter-regional letters are very much in use. Our services to destinations on the former "Southern" all use O and vice versa all use V when returning to the "Western". Likewise anything heading to Banbury will use M with the return using V. E.g.: 2V21 0835 Banbury to Reading https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:P76950/2023-11-15/detailed#allox_id=0

I knew I’d seen them somewhere before. I had asked a question a while back over on the RailUK Forum about the 1Hxx books. One of the replies had attached several of the book covers including these two:
