  2. Does anybody have any experience of Heljan's Danish steam locos?A post on uk.rec.models.rail would indicate they have had problems.Lets hope they are not being too ambitious with their first UK steam loco.

The grey band is slightly narrower on the HST trailers,so a mixed train may look a bit odd.
  5. The result of a quick experiment shows that a complete Portram will easily push 6 new Farish Mk.1 coaches along.

I saw one of these running on a layout at TINGS today. It looked smooth and ran silent, very impressive.
  13. Lateral thinking time.Take the last photo from the first post (or something similar) and using photoshop (or similar) change the colour of the fascia and see what works best. That said,I agree with what you just wrote. It could just be a case of finding the right shade of green.
  14. A welcome return of an old friend,it is good to see this layout on the new RMweb. The overall design has provided some inspiration for the rebuilding of my own N-gauge layout. As for the fascia,I'd try dark green. If that doesn't work out you can paint it black later.
  15. PVA works with it.Avoid any solvent based glue, that will dissolve the stuff.
  16. Interesting.Does that mean the middle axle is shorter,or have you not pushed the middle crank in as far as the others?
  17. I'm liking the look of this one a lot,Al.A nice variation on the GWR BLT. I'm experimenting myself with the pink foam, plus Balsa wood as facing to keep things light.Very easy to work with. Looking forward to seeing another great model emerge.
  18. off to load Willesden Junction for its trip to Trainwest

  19. I picked one up today,a miniature work of art.It comes with directional and interior lights, and a smooth mechanism.Detail is finer than the Tomytec version, but they appear to be dimensionally identical and visually compatable.
  20. I never liked the look of the motorised chassis for the Tomytec version as it completely filled the interior. This looks like a much better option. I can forsee a model using both powered and unpowered models.
