  1. You can change the number of segments in a circle, or arc, by editing the 'Entity Info'. You need to do this when you first draw it, once you start manipulating it the number of segments with be fixed.
  2. They've been and gone, Larry. Hattons still have distants for sale, was you planning on replacing the arm anyway?
  3. This one? http://www.roxeymouldings.co.uk/product/164/4f08-lcdr-goods-brake-van/
  4. The dome on my LMS compound came off with very little effort, there seemed to be very little glue holding it in place. The same applies to their chimneys.
  5. Hello Mike, welcome to rmweb. Nice looking plan, but I see a potential problem. It looks like your fiddle yard may be completely hidden when the layout is finished, making access difficult. This may be a problem depending on how you plan to operate the layout and what you plan to run. If it's not too late, if you mirror image the plan it would put the fiddle yard at the left end, where it looks like you would be able to access it from the end.
  6. After studying photos of the models, it looks to me like the dome is a separate part. So fairly easy to remove.

    Design Criteria

Hello This looks like a good plan.It sounds like you are going to end up building a 7mm version of Willesden Junction, which is no bad thing.Be warned, WJ (a 4mm layout) is 20 feet long, but includes a turning triangle at one end and a junction at the other. The transfer yard area will fit into your space with room for some scenery, such as the shelled farm. DCC is a good idea, there tends to be lots of conflicting movements in the yard. I shall watch with interest. Regards (from an ex WJ operator).
  8. Good use of a small space, how long is it?
  9. Hi Mitchell Does this mean that Shapeways is ok with a file containing lots of separate parts, rather than having them linked together by 'sprue' ? This would be completely the opposite policy to Materialise.

  12. The good news is that the brake shoes are not moulded as part of the frames, and could be moved in nearer the wheels if you wanted (to make the effort).
  13. The Parrot is particularly impressive and shows the advantage of 3D printing well. You wouldn't want to scratch build a rake of these!
  14. With the paint,sand,paint,sand...... process you can achieve a smooth finish eventually.Just keep going until you are happy with the finish. It should work well with a smooth sided coach with no raised details to get in the way. There must be quite a few modellers that would be happy with a non-powered set,for dragging around behind a 57.Only tail lights would be needed for that one. As for missing details,if they are very fine they can be affected by print orientation.A very small gap between parts can disappear in some cases. Excellent work so far, keep it up.
  15. That looks to be the way to go, just make sure Materialise print it the right way up! As for the smokebox door, I'd like to see it without any number on the plate, and a version with no number plate at all.
  16. My experience of FD is that it is too soft for my liking.FUD is better, but costs even more than FD. What policy change is preventing you using WSF ?
  17. Why would you want to,when there are plenty of alternatives available?
  18. Materialise use stereo-lithography for the grey prime material, seen above.Fineline is able to offer it in much higher resolutions,at a price.

    Dapol Class 22

    Just remember the D is for Dapol,not Diesel.And D1 was a Pug,not a Peak.
  20. A Kadee under the track magnet (#308) may work with these.Or a pair of small rare earth magnets hidden in the ballast either side of the track.
  21. A quote from that facebook page linked to in post #2: "We have now re-furbed the first of the old Airfix OO Stanier coach tooling." So this tooling was never sold to Hornby.Did Dapol retain any other Airfix RTR tooling?
