  1. The cover picture of this book came to mind when I read your question. https://www.waterstones.com/book/private-owner-wagons-in-colour-for-the-modeller-and-historian/david-ratcliffe/9780711033658 Paul
  2. One that I never got to model was the parcel side of a large terminus station. Along the back scene a single track with a platform. On the platform either stone work or large advert hoardings just giving a hint of the train behind on the single track. Moving forward on the viewing side of the platform a track used for assembling a short parcel train and / or running DMU shuttles. In front of that 3 or 4 tracks to park parcel stock or stable the odd loco. The trick is giving the impression of a larger station, so lots of signs indicating platforms 6- 9 this way. The train partial hidden behind the adverts could be modelled with a coach door opened and several figures in line as if they have just got off. Hope I have given you or someone else food for thought. Paul
  3. Andy they also do a PCA cement wagon (Vee tank) they are not listed on their website so you will have to ring. Mine were bought at shows. Paul
  4. A TTA tank wagon in the number of liveries they come in must surely be viable. Carefully done to allow for variants. Paul
  5. Several of these are available as kits. From time to time some manufacturers ask for suggestions but they don't go any further. I was hoping accurascale would add to their hopper range, but nothing as yet. It's all very well churning out loco after loco but if they have little to pull... I guess air brake stock is a niche market in what is still seen as a niche scale. Paul
  6. Nice to see progress on these. Was there a HSA variant too for scrap metal that had the hopper doors welded shut? Paul
  7. Link is back up! https://www.Dapol.co.uk/O-Gauge-Vanwide-and-VEA-Update Paul
  8. In the Dapol interview on the virtual show on Saturday it was said they are on the water. Paul
  9. Yes it seems the page has been removed. Hopefully it will get re instated Paul
  10. Link to update https://www.Dapol.co.uk/O-Gauge-Vanwide-and-VEA-Update Paul
  11. Looks really nice Julian. So nice in fact I have ordered one despite running BR blue! Paul
  12. A small tank engine would be a good bet, but a large chunk of work was already done on the Little Loco companies two up and coming plans before they folded - the Ruston shunter and the class 22. Could Dapol have bought into these? Paul
  13. Looks good but as already said leave room for a portacabin and a road vehicle or two. Looking forward to your progress. Paul
  14. According to a Heljan Facebook Post these have just arrived in Denmark and are being shipped to the UK. Paul
  15. Regarding explosives the SS Richard Montgomery a WW 2 liberty ship sunk in the Thames estuary is another one you would not want to go bang. https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20151027-the-ticking-time-bomb-of-the-thames Paul
  16. Get some parkside grampus wagon kits, Andy. They suit your era. Easy to build. (If you can build an airfix kit you can build these) Paul
  17. Great video Jim. Your Manning Wardle runs great. Really impressed! Paul
  18. Never had any buffer lock issues or derailment it all runs fine in that respect. Just a bit of a clunk with the peckett and sentinel on the frog. I placed some plastic and it seems to improve it. Paul
  19. Well it's been a little while since I updated. I have just set up the layout to run a couple of new additions. I am getting a nice collection of little locos to run on this! Latest arrivals are a Dapol Sentinel and a Minerva Peckett. Whilst both run well they do seem to drop in the frog on the peco set track points so I will have to may be put some thin plasticard in to lift the wheels up a little. Looking ahead I may add a factory gate at the end between the two sidings and cobble over the yard, adding possibly a small yard crane. It's only a small space so I cannot do too much with it. Paul
  20. According to Tower models, end of March for the 122 Paul
  21. Walton Street, Hull. Mid 80s. Hull - Bridlington line. Paul
