  2. Images nicked from the document that Cursor St. architect's (WSP) have just released this week. Note: This is not a concept, but is the basis of the actual design being drawn up for the station. https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/commonplace-cloudfront/resources/projects/hs2inbirmingham/70037817_HS2_Curzon+Street_A5+Brochure_V1-compressed.pdf . .
  3. Sorry folks, but this seems like a lot of pointless bickering. HS2 is being built. Phase one will not be having any additional stations. Preliminary work has already commenced at various points all along the proposed route. There are work sites and compounds being established at various locations, nature reserves and wildlife refuges being created, utility services surveyed and preparations being made for their relocation, buildings being demolished etc, etc. It could still be cancelled, with a few £billion already spent or committed written off in the process, but the first elements of the major construction work are due to commence in the not too distant future, which would then make cancellation of the project even more unlikely. .
  4. You might need to go back and edit a few of your posts Phil. Wilmslow is in Cheshire and is due to be served by a HS2 station.......at Manchester Airport.

  6. There's a good reason why they've used a small form factor socket in this model. The lack of available space. Otherwise Bachmann would have fitted an 8 or 21 pin connector. The solution is quite simple. Buy an appropriate Next18 decoder. .

  11. At first glance I thought that read ... 3,500 locos !!!! Crikey! I've some catching up to do. That's a fair few decoders too. Then I realised you actually (or is it probably) meant ... 35x locos (00 gauge).
  12. YouTube transport Vlogger, Geoff Marshall talks to Gareth Edwards (a.k.a. John Bull) of London Reconnections, about the delay to the opening of Crossrail/Elizabeth Line and other related issues. A bit of banter and messing about at the start, but it gets going after 2min 40secs in. There's some interesting information in there. Warning, it's 27mins long.

  14. That vehicle segment is seeing a number of new EV vans being introduced. It is seen as a growth area, but high initial costs, due to R&D and the rapid developments in the technology, have held the commercial vehicle sector back until now. As with passenger cars, I'm fairly convinced that landscape will look much different in three or four years time. .
